@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Since the new world order
played upon our fears
Spreading accusations
of radical ideas
The brotherhood of wisdom
Strength and dignity
Its rituals and secrets
remain a mystery
Beneath an ever watchful eye
The angels of the temple fly
Turn the key, walk through the gate
The great ascent to reach a higher state
A rite of passage
The final stage, a sacred home
Unlock the door and lay the cornerstone
A rite of passage
Men of wealth and power
Influence and fame
Philosophers and leaders
All members of the trade
Bound by oath and honor
Like the rose and cross
An enigmatic union
of esoteric thoughts
Beneath an ever watchful eye
The angels of the temple fly
Turn the key, walk through the gate
The great ascent to reach a higher state
A rite of passage
The final stage, a sacred home
Unlock the door and lay the cornerstone
A rite of passage
Turn the key, walk through the gate
The great ascent to reach a higher state
A rite of passage
The seven stars, the rising sun
A perfect world, a new life has begun
A rite of passage
played upon our fears
Spreading accusations
of radical ideas
The brotherhood of wisdom
Strength and dignity
Its rituals and secrets
remain a mystery
Beneath an ever watchful eye

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Freemasonry. It's pretty awesome when the keyboard starts doing those nintendo sounds.
I can't believe even uneducated Internet trolls take "Zeitgeist" seriously.
Thank you! Fucking, THANK YOU. +1
This and sacrificed sons is probably their reaction to Metropolis 2000: Live Scenes From New York being delayed till 9/11 considering the artwork and Elektra being part of WMG
Pretty much a ceremony of joining an association such as the Freemasons or the Illuminati.
I would say it's the Illuminati, the all-seeing eye is an Illuminatisymbol, if I'm right. :)
It's about the Freemasons. And is it me or does the main riff sound like the prechorus riff off Endless Sacrifice.
O not to mention this is going to be a great single.
"Of radical fears" sounds like "Of radical ideas" to me.
Also, it sounds like it should be "Bound by oath and honor" rather than "Bound by open honor" and "esoteric thought" (not thoughts).
Great analysis LittlePrincezz!
I wonder if they'll cut the whole instrumental section out for the single... sounds like they could the way the riff plays before and after it.

What about "The great ascent to reach a higher state". Does it make sense to be "a greater sense..."?
again, this refers to rising a level in Masonry.
Oh, another minor adjustment;
Men of wealth and power, Influence and FAME (instead of fate)
The brotherhood of wisdom Stregnth and dignity (you mispelled STRENGTH)
And on your "greater sense" bit. I'm not completely sure. Could roll either way.
"A perfect world(,) a new, life has begun" Interpunction? <--------
Here we are, discussing a pre-released song. Mike Portnoy must hate us now 8D
Purely out of interest, how did you get your hands on this song?
"Beneath the ever watchful eye" Beneath an ever watchful eye
"Turn the key walk, through the gate" Turn the key, walk through the gate.
Just nit picking. Its a good song for an attempt to be a single.
Definitely this song is about Freemasonry, starting from the single's artwork which shows a compass and a square, and mentioning many masonic symbols in this song: the watchful eye, flying angels, the key, the cornerstone, the seven stars, the rising sun.....
fantastic song, one of my DT's all time favorites
