I text a postcard, sent to you
Did it go through?
Sending all my love to you
You are the moonlight of my life every night
Giving all my love to you
My beating heart belongs to you
I walked for miles 'til I found you
I'm here to honor you
If I lose everything in the fire
I'm sending all my love to you

With every breath that I am worth
Here on Earth
I'm sending all my love to you
So if you dare to second guess
You can rest assure
That all my love's for you

My beating heart belongs to you
I walked for miles 'til l found you
I'm here to honor you
If I lose everything in the fire
I'm sending all my love to you

My beating heart belongs to you
I walked for miles 'til I found you
I'm here to honor you
If I lose everything in the fire
Did I ever make it through

General Comment:Although I'm sure this was written for BJ's wife Adrienne it still, as someone has already said, fits into the Christian and Gloria narrative ("if I lose everything in the fire").

For me this is Christian bearing his soul, guard completely down, rage put aside. to declare his love for Gloria. So important as I think this is the one moment in Gloria's mind when she tries to save him (my interpretation of "21 guns") later in the story. Bearing in mind by that stage there is serious acrimony between them (again, my interpretation in case anyone is about to jump down my throat), so this Christian is the one Gloria is reaching out to.

General Comment:This song is listed after the introduction of Gloria and Christian as the two protagonists of the album (in Viva la Gloria and Christian's Inferno respectively). Christian pledges his eternal love for Gloria- although it never specifies whether the song is from his point of view or hers, it is more likely his.
Basically, he tells her how is absolutely, completely, hopelessly in love with her and that she brings reason into his life.
There are references here to the previous song, Christian's Inferno- "If I loose everything in the fire, I'm sending all my love to you."
What he means is, his love for her will withstand any sort of destruction.

General Comment:I loved this song when I first heard it, the melody really is chilling for me.

After seeing Green Day at the O2 in Oct 2009 I havent stopped listing to the albums.

My fiance loves Greenday and when he suggested this for our first dance ... I agreed... our wedding is not till July but I cant wait to dance into our new chapter together ... (also cant not get emotional when I hear it now !!!)

General Comment:This song is amazing, I changed the lyrics up for a broken hearted song.

My beating heart belonged to you
I walked for miles 'til I found you
    I'm tried to honor you
But you through everything in the fire
now my love aint for you

i think it would still work as a heartbreak song

My Interpretation:Okay this is going to sound SO weird, I know...but I thought maybe this song could be interpreted in more than one way.

Obviously, it could be a love song, a person singing it to another person they love and care for, but if you think about it more openly, it could be from a religious person's point of view...singing it to the God they worship or something, you know? I know...it may be weird, and honestly a bit creepy because of the tone of the song, but I just thought ...

"Sending all my love to you
You are the moonlight of my life every night
Giving all my love to you"

pretty self-explanatory...a deeply religious person could think this about their god.

"My beating heart belongs to you
I WALKED FOR MILES 'TIL I FOUND YOU"

so, the person may have 'found' their god during a hard time in their life ('i walked for miles')

    "I'm here to honor you
If I lose everything in the fire
I'm sending all my love to you"

again...think about it from a religious person's p.o.v. There to 'honor' the god and pretty much devoting themselves to him/her.
and other lines too such as "with every breath that i am worth here on earth".

I thought maybe it could work, but it makes it really creepy for me because of the melody, billie's voice and the general feel of the song...very lovey-dovey but a fanatic could think the same thing right? LOL...just a thought!

General Comment:Felt kind of sappy and out of place, but I guess they had to calm it down a little because they didn't want Christian's Inferno and East Jesus Nowhere next to each other. Wind down the First Act.

"Losing everything in the fire" sounds like a reference to the last song when he was all hyped up (and probably drugged up)- if he loses himself and gets all crazy he still wants to make sure she knows that he loves her.
