Several Women's magazines
Stacked up on top of a picture of me
When I tried to call
No one answered
It's not even that I'm all angry
Just wanna know why you would do this thing
You said, theres an understanding
I offer you a small dog in the kitchen
I just wanted you to feel at home
And that's why I'm fine
I am fine, I am fine, I am fine
I just need 100 dollars
And I am fine, I am fine, I am completely fine
I just need 100 dollars
From you
And you and you
And you and you

And you and you

But when I listen to it, I get the feeling like coming home on holiday and you get home and see your moms magazine collection on top of the table your picture use to be on and bringing someone with you, like a girlfriend or someone special. Offering her your puppy to pet while you sat in the kitchen so to make her feel better. And you kind of just want to get back to where ever it is you are in life now (school, apartment, w/e). SO everyone keeps asking how things are going with work/school and you tell them the same story you tell them every holiday. You know you'll be getting money from all your relatives because it's holiday season and they don't buy toys anymore, they just all give you money. SO you get fed up and feel like standing up and just yelling
"I am fine, I am fine, I am fine
I just need 100 dollars"
and then pointing to each Aunt and Uncle
"From you
And you and you
And you and you"
I just think it matches visually well
I'm curious, though, does anyone know what the lyrics "I offer you a small dog in the kitchen" refer to? My fiance and I have been trying to figure it out. A hotdog? A chihuahua? How would that make someone feel at home? Anyone have any ideas?
and he basically said that he had just gotten 100 dollars from his parents, or his wifes parents or something lol
and, well, go figure, he loses it. and it was "just one of those things that starts to not be the only problem, it adds to so many other things"
it's hard to rephrase it.
but when i first heard it, i felt something so much more powerful about this song.
