You're weak and you're gullible, and I don't care
You're a walking disaster, and I don't care
You cry yourself to sleep, and I don't care
You're wasting our time, and I don't care

You knew this day would come, and you did, and you really should have waited
Go cry yourself to sleep, and you should, because I'm so faded
You knew this day would come, and it did, and you really should have waited
Go cry yourself to sleep, and you should, because I'm so faded

You contradict everything, and I don't care
Your logic is twisted, and I don't care
I'll pretend to be happy, and I don't care
You cry yourself to sleep, and I don't care
You're weak and you're gullible, and I don't care
You're a walking disaster, and I don't care

You knew this day would come, and it did, and you should have waited
Go cry yourself to sleep, and you should, because I'm so faded
You knew this day would come, and it did, and you really should have waited
Go cry yourself to sleep, and you should, because I'm so faded
Go cry yourself to sleep, and you should, because I'm so faded

This is a good deadmau5 song so here's my two cents..

He basically Doesnt care because hes too "faded" (high out of his mind) but it can also be understood as him feeling just out of it like hes not really there (but either way you get the same meaning). I'm assuming he doesn't care about what the person does because of the ways the person is and it's so opposite of him that he just gave up and doesn't care any more. OR it can be the same thing except he doesn't care that the person is that way he just loves them regardless? Either or IMO.

Wrong wrong wrong and wrong You're all wrong This song has nothing to do with his relationships or not caring about someone else It's to himself Joel suffers from severe depression from time to time. This song was him venting his frustrations an attitude about himself to himself

Most love songs are about one partner's deep passion and attachment to the other, but deadmau5 perfectly illustrates the stone cold melancholy of the other side who does not feel strongly at all. I really think that deadmau5 should write more lyrics, because he's quite good at it.

    My Interpretation

This song kills me everytime I hear it mainly because of the way I read it. It's a poem to one's self, a sad one at that. The way the song is written repetitively suggests that this is an internal dialogue. The writer is venting his frustrations with himself, but is so upset that he can't or doesn't really desire to change where he is at. It's that breaking point where you give up on trying to understand your feelings or your position in life. He refers to this breaking point when writes, "You knew this day would come, and you did, and you really should have waited". Another interpretation is that these could be words people said to him that he has internalized, and he has let them become a part of his personage. It's likely a combination of self-hatred and words cast upon him by others. When I heard this immediately, I thought, yes, this is far deeper than a breakup. And the background track reflects that as well. It's not vengeful as it may be for an ex. It's simple and melodic, a haunting melody that would be found in someone's head. Our thoughts really determine how we feel about ourselves. "I'll pretend to be happy, and I don't care, You cry yourself to sleep, and I don't care."This is kind of a give away for my interpretation, because this song has so many notes of being disappointed in himself. He gives it away when he says I'll pretend to be happy instead of using "you". He says he will pretend which is what he has been doing while this melody has played over and over in his head. It's a testament to how dark our thoughts can be, and to the demon that is depression.

Thank you for this beautiful song! No one can argue with that

i love this song so much....

to me, it goes like this... he realized what kind of person his girlfriend was after she broke up with him. she regrets it because she realized what she lost. where as, he realizes she's in the wrong and he's better off without her.

"You knew this day would come, and it did. And you really should have waited." she broke up with him. he knew it was coming, but he knew he didn't deserve it. "Go cry yourself to sleep, and you should. Because I'm so faded." she regrets breaking up with him and possibly wants him back. he feels that she deserves to be hurt for hurting him.

The following isn't fact, simply my theory, which I think might actually be close to the truth, maybe not... Anyway...

I always thought this song was directed towards an ex-girlfriend who broke up with him before he hit it big and became famous... So she breaks up with him, breaks his heart or w/e, and then he becomes the biggest dub step artist in history. So now she's crying herself to sleep, pretending to be happy etc, and he doesn't care.

"You knew this day would come, and it did, and you really should have waited." is definitely what made me think o this, but a lot of the other lyrics also sort of portray this meaning. What with all the "I don't cares"... and why should he? she broke his heart, and if she wants him now because he's famous well, she can screw herself basically.

I think the song is basically says "haha bet you wish you stayed with me now"

Meanwhile deadmau5 is banging super models in his mansion.

    ....He don't care.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
