You kissed me on the forehead
Now this kiss is giving me a concussion
We were love at first sight
Now it's crush
It's crushing
Now choose two stops through the city though
I'm lost easily
I took to the desert but my heart just whines
And deceive me
Now we're in love again
And you're wherevers
I'm not a child I know
We're not going steady
You're pain's gigantic but it's not as big as your ego
Promise not to abandon you, please let me go
Now I've been hurting your feelings
Yeah they were worth protecting
They say I'm too kind and sentimental
Like you could catch affection
Oh in your eyes there's a sadness
Enough to kill the both of us
Are those eyes overrated?
They make me want to give up on love
I'll brace myself for the holiness
Say hello to feelings that I detest
This maudlin career has come to an end
I don't want to be sad again
This maudlin career has come to an end
I don't want to be sad again
This maudlin career has come to an end
I don't want to be sad again
This maudlin career has come to an end
I don't want to be sad again
Now this kiss is giving me a concussion
We were love at first sight
Now it's crush
It's crushing
Now choose two stops through the city though
I'm lost easily
I took to the desert but my heart just whines
And deceive me
Now we're in love again
And you're wherevers
I'm not a child I know
We're not going steady

Promise not to abandon you, please let me go

You kissed me on the forehead (in Spain)
Now these kisses give me concussion
We were love at first sight
Now this crush is crushing
I retraced your steps through the city of romance lazily
I took to the desert with your harshest words
And they saved me
I'll bail you out again I've got the readies
I'm not a child I know we're not going steady
Your pain's gigantic
But [it's] not as big as your ego
I promise not to abandon you
Please let me go
I harbored worried feelings
Like they were worth protecting
You say I'm too kind and sentimental
Like you could catch affection
In your eyes there's a sadness enough
To kill the both of us
Are those eyes overrated?
They make me want to give up on love
I'll brace myself for the loneliness
Say hello to feeling[s] that I (despise) [detest]
This maudlin career must come to an end
I don't want to be sad again
This maudlin career must come to an end
I don't want to be sad again
[This maudlin career must come to an end
I don't want to be sad again
This maudlin career must come to an end
I don't want to be sad again
This maudlin career must come to an end
I don't want to be sad again]
That's what Maudlin means and the career is her relationship that must feel like a chore/job.
"we were love at first sight
now this crush, it's crushing
I chased your steps through the city of romance lazily,
I took to the desert with your heart, she (?) and deceives me"
I definitely do not hear:
"Now we're in love again
And you're wherevers"
she says something else, don't know what.
then I think it's
"now I've been wearing your feelings,
like they were worth protecting"
and maybe it's "I embrace" instead of "I'll brace"... not sure.
Please leave any corrections you have! This post was really just meant as a starting point for people with better ears than mine.

[and also...]
Now I've been hurting your feelings yeah they're worth protecting

in your eyes there's a sadness enough to kill the both of us
are those eyes overrated they make me want to give up on love
and I'll brace myself for the holiness say hello to feelings that I detest
[maybe, like you I'm not sure. Come on folks lets all help each other out here!]
Upon listening to it again and again, I'm pretty sure that it's "this" instead of "it's," but I'm not as sure about "crashing vs. crushing." I think I might just think that "crashing" is the line because it makes more sense to me that way.
Also, I think would rearrange the stanzas a bit.
i hear:
"i took to the desert with your harshest words and (something i can't decipher)"
also the next verse is so hard to hear, but i think it's something like this:
i'll (something) you out again
i go there at ease
i'm not a child
i know we're not going steady
Like you could COUNT affection
Say hello to feelings that I detest
