Everything's always better
Whenever you're ?
And I wanted to tell you then
To try a bird's nest

And it's truth you know
Its always the issue
And when it starts getting blurry
Ones never better than two

There's a place in this world
Where people like me are found by people like you
So find a place as this forever divine

Oh yeah you're the best damn friend that I'll ever have
You'll always smile upon me when the seasons bad
You'll always make me feel best even when I'm blue
You'll always smile upon me and I'll smile upon you too

I don't know what are you now
Since everything has changed
If I did know one thing
Its me whose feeling strange

Yes everything is different
And I don't react well
The changes that come when
Your life's becoming hell

There's a place in this world
Where people like me are found by people like you
So find a place as this forever divine

Oh yeah you're the best damn friend that I'll ever have
You'll always smile upon me when the seasons bad
You'll always make me feel best even when I'm blue
You'll always smile upon me and I'll smile upon you too

My Interpretation:I interpret this as a relationship with a drug, possibly LSD.
-the birds nest = the broader? (more open maybe) view of the world associated with acid
-the place where people like you meet people like me might be another dimension of higher understanding experienced during a trip(longshot ik)
    - as his life takes a turn for the worse he wonders if he will still enjoy acid
    -"its me whose feeling strange"

idk..i guess its a longshot interpretation but thats what i felt from it

General Comment:After seeing this band live and researching on the lead singer Michael's past. I think it is clear that it is about him and his fiancee's problems as Michael's struggles with severe bipolar disorder that has almost lead him to suicide. When he say's "there's a place in this world where people like me are found by people like you", People like me, means the crazies, and people like you are the one's meant to help/assist/love the ones who need it the most, such as in Michael's case.

Song Meaning:To me this is he had a best friend where they always helped each other and made each other feel better (that is kind of given). But then something goes wrong. Whether the timing of their friendship is wrong things start to change and he is losing this friend, but no matter what he/she is still his best friend and will always be.

Lyric Correction:The first part should actually go:

    "Everything's always better
    Whenever I'm at rest
    I'm wound up tighter than
    A dried up bird's nest"

"I don't know what are you now" should be "I don't know what I need now"
That part's pretty hard to hear to begin with, but I'm positive what's up there right now is not correct.

"If I did know one thing it's me whose feeling strange" should instead be "If I do know one thing it's me who's feeling strange"

"Yes everything is different" would be "'Cause everything is different" instead!

My Opinion:I'm a mod now guys. Be mean to me and I'll kick yo ass ;) Just kidding. But I wrote that comment when I was obsessed wth Twilight. Now, not so much. The way I feel about this song now has changed. I think of my boyfriend and I when I hear it. The music played after the chorus is gorgeous... :)

General Comment:I think what the meaning of the song is that this person he's met is one of his best friends and if course he finds this person who just happens to be perfect him. The line everything's always better when you're underdressed suggest that because they can be so casual with each other that they both get a chance to just be who they are and not have to put that best foot forward. And then he mentions he's feeling strange, suggestion he's beginning to feel for this person. And probably because this friend found him in hard time in his life, and they just for some reason made everything much much better.

General Comment:kids, let's not get mean...60 miles was just making putting thoughts out there; no need to say she sucks. I don't agree with her, either, but you don't have to react to it or even think about it if you find it offensive.

it works as either a best friend or a partner song, I think. it makes me think of both my best friend & my boyfriend, and going through the course of any kind of relationship. like HopeSoForYou said, it was meant as an apology-type song. people mess up with both their friends & their partners.
& personally I kind of like the circling sound, makes it feel so much happier & lighter.
