Sounds like common jealousy, alcohol-induced anger over a guy getting a girl the lyricist wants. Maybe there is a lack of alcohol, but this is the kind of tirade I would expect from a drunk dude at a bar or a party somewhere.

Yes I agree. I think maybe the lyricist is the friend of this guy who has the girl. Maybe they met her at the same time, and both liked her, but the other guy got her. Now he sees his friend not taking care of this girl the way he would. My favorite part of the whole song:
"And when we saw her face
I said she's something else
She was your only hope
And still you let her down"

Although I love when he says "hey shut the fuck up boy too" :)

two guy friends (singer is one of them) see this pretty girl at a party or something like that, are attracted to her. the friend just wants to get with her. the singer gets upset because he thinks she's special and he would take care of her while the friend just messes with her and sees her as "special" as in hot.
