Oh, kiss me
Flick your cigarette, then kiss me
Kiss me where your eye won't meet me
Meet me where your mind won't kiss me

Flick your eyes and mine and then hit me
Hit me with your eyes so sweetly
Oh, you know, you know, you know, that yes I love
I mean, I'd love to get to know you

Do you never wonder?
No, no no

No, you girls never know
Oh no, you girls'll never know
No, you girls never know
How you make a boy feel
You girls never know
Oh no, you girls'll never know
No, you girls never know
How you make a boy feel
How you make a boy

Oh, kiss me
Flick your cigarette, then kiss me
Kiss me where your eye won't meet me
Meet me where your eye won't Flick me
Flick your mind and mine so briefly
Oh you know, you know you're so sweetly
Oh you know, you know, I know that I love you
I mean I, I mean I need to love

Do you never wonder?
No, no no

No, you girls never know
Oh no, you girls'll never know
No you girls never know
How you make a boy feel
You girls never know
Oh no, you girls'll never know
No, you girls never know
How you make a boy feel
How you make a boy feel
How you make a boy

Sometimes I say stupid things
That I think
Well, I mean I
Sometimes I think the stupidest things
Because I never wonder
Oh, how the girl feels
Oh, how the girl feels

No, you boys never care
Oh no, you boys'll never care
No, you boys never care
How the girl feels
You boys never care
You dirty boys'll never care
No, you boys never care
How the girl feels

Oh, how the girl feels
Oh, how the girl feels

I agree with sighkickgirl. To me, this song is talking about how what men and women need in a relationship.

Men typically have more physical/sexual needs, as stated in the first verse; Oh, kiss me Flick your cigarette, then kiss me Kiss me where your eye won't meet me Meet me where your mind won't kiss me Flick your eyes and mind and then hit me Hit me with your eyes so sweetly

Women tend to have more emotional/romantic needs. They're quicker to fall in love and get more attached.

Oh, you know you know you know you that Yes I love -- I mean I'd Love to get to know you ^ The two maybe just met or only known each other for a short while. The girl is probably falling for him, but the guy is just telling her what she wants to hear. He doesn't feel the same way.

Sometimes I say stupid things But I think, well I mean I Sometimes I think the stupidest things Because I never wonder How the girl feels Oh, how the girl feels

^ He keeps telling her all of these things to maybe pressure her to do things for him, but she starts to not believe him and is hurt from getting played. He's starting to realize what he's been doing.

And the chorus is basically saying that girls can be flirty and attractive, but don't fully understand how much it makes a guy feel or turns him on.

And the "No you boys never care how the girl feels" part is saying that boys will lie to a girl and say anything to get what he wants, without knowing or caring how it makes the girl.

    My Interpretation

IMHO: The first two verses are obviously about someone playing mind games and flirting around with our illustrious lead singer. Then the chorus accounts for how she never realizes how she makes him feel deep down.

Then in the final verse, our illustrious lead singer realizes that he thinks a lot of stupid, shallow things about the girl. The last chorus then, is about how even though boys feel things when girls play with them, boys never care how the girl feels and we have a vicious cycle. ^__^

Great song, definitely tops off the new album. I'm waiting for this, third single..?

Girls don't know and boys don't care (about physical vs. emotional feelings) This doesn't remind me of a relationship really.. More of when two people meet and flirt around and the boy wants sex while the girl wants to fall in love. The boy will feel betrayed because the girl doesn't want sex, while the girls mind was on a completely different track, not knowing the boy really wants sex, and the girl feels betrayed because the boy doesn't have any interest in her apart from sexual interest, and he doesn't care about how that makes her feel. Something like that anyway..

seriously? listen to the lyrics, like other franz songs, this is about sex. in this case, anal sex. Think about it: guys (homosexual ones) don't know how a they make a girl feel and girls don't know how it makes guys feel.

You dirty boys'll never care How the girl feels

and if you don't believe me, ask the band. I met them last year and they confirmed my interpretation.

this is such a catchy song. and i love how he says Yes I love -- I mean I'd love to get to know you. this amuses me greatly. and the comparison between guys and girls is interesting, too.

As much as I love this song and "Katherine, Kiss Me," I think it's a freaking cop out since they're essentially the same song. I think they should have put both together and made a long song with movements, that would have been super cool.

Other than this small complaint, I really do love this song.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
