  My Interpretation:I think it is a guy who is in love with his best friend. She is with someone else though, and is forgetting him. He know that she belongs with him and that underneath everything, she knew too.Maybe she was too stubborn to go back to a guy who probably insulted her boyfriend, and said it never would last. Even if that guy was her best friend. He told her how he felt, and she denied it, she didn't believe him.
  Now she's avoiding him. But because of love, they still have good times. She can;t leave him completely but doesn't want to give into love. Of course, her best friend just wants to be together and have a happily ever after. She does too, but won't admit it. THis song is the awkward part, where they are separated and think about it and try not to give in because of their pride

  My Interpretation:Ok, at first sorry for my english, but I hope you can understand.
  
  I speak in one example, to describe my interpratation better, because everytime, when I hear this song, I have to remember that I experience the same thing.
  
  Some things we don't talk about

  Ashamed and proud of
  Together all the while
  
  They are two people, who love each other. Both of them now, how the other is feeling, but they do not speak about it. For example: They are very difficult circumstances and they can't get together. Both are very worry about it, but they hold their smile.
  
  You can never say never while we don't know it
  Time and time again
  Younger now than we were before
  Don't let me go, don't let me go, don't let me go
  Don't let me go, don't let me go, don't let me go
  
  Nethertheless they can't say "We couldn't get together." It can be happened, but they don't know when and wheter. So they keep hope and remember their thirst times in this way of relationship. Even if they are a couple or, how in this example, not.
  And just because they would keep hope, they shouldn't let this go. They would and will be wait for something happened between them.

  Steady your hand
  
  One the one hand it can show how the one person is thinking about the other. He everytime would be there for this other person, even what happened.
  On the other hand it can show, that both are dream other their own world. If there are really difficult circumstances, both really wan't to live in their own world - where they are able to get together.

  This suggest that these kind of relationships continue off and on because they never truly discuss the heart of the matter. But the very things that caused the seperation are sometimes what brings them back together. Despite their unresloved issues, their tainted and resilient hearts beat in unison. So they're always together, even when their apart.

  As time and their relationship progresses, the dynamics between them shift. They still haven't fixed the core of them but they've developed and grown, and can now enjoy the authentic parts of themselves; that only rarely surfaced in the beginning. They are chronologically aging but they feel young in spirit. No matter whats happened or what will happen, they'll always be there for eachother.

  This represents their special world that only they are a part of. In this perfect world, it is their fairy tale and even if it's not real, it's real to them because that's how they make eachother feel. They're reassuring their love how they put them above everything and how special they are to them. How they will always support them and stand by their side no matter what.

  This is such a powerful and emotional love song, probably one of the best. It depicts the struggles that lovers go through but manage to rise above somehow. A song that is a testament to true love and although time passes by, it seems to stand still for these couples.   I think these lyrics can be said when someone has died or is dying because inside you can be feeling like your falling apart. Like how i feel some days as i lost my great-grandma 3 weeks ago and it hurts so bad.

  I think when someone is dying or has died you don't really want to talk about the death as it is upsetting so instead you keep it all bottled up inside. With your friends and family you put on a fake smile and pretend to be strong when really your not and it kills you inside.

  This is the lyrics that means basically you don't want the person to die and you want them to stay with you but they have to go.

  I'm unsure of how to interpretate the above lyric as i can't really explain it. But when someone dies you get a sense of attention from everyone. This is from friends, family and also teachers at school because it's been like that for me the past few weeks. All those people like friends, family and also teachers at school are always going to be there for you and will help you through grief and coping with it.

  General Comment:I feel it's a song about death.

  I think both are representation of how a person feels with their loved in one when they are dying. Death is taking the person away from you, but then, you become so much closer with them than ever before. You experience something in a day that you would never experience in a lifetime, and that's what makes death so sad.
  
  "Somethings we don't talk about, rather do without"
  
  The majority of people do not talk about death. We feel like we can live forever, we are scared of the life after death. No one wants to think about death.
  
  In the music video are scenarios of tragic events. Things that we would rather not think about happening to our loved ones and to ourselves.
  
  "Don't let me go"
  
  This is obvious, he doesn't want the person to leave/die.

  I'm not sure about this but I'll interpret the way I see it.
  When you are dying, you get an overwhelming sense of attention. From a matter of days and weeks, from a normal person, you have become the king/queen. So when you are in need, when there is chaos everywhere, you can depend on him to save you.
  
  Overall, a beautifully written and executed song :'( It is so sad)

  My Interpretation:I feel this song is about a loved one who is ill in hospital and is dying. Then when the loved one passes away the person is feeling alone and needs someone to be there but she doesn't want to talk about it.

  This may be that she is bottling things up and is pretending she's fine.

  Basically says that someone will be there for her.

  My Interpretation:I think this song is about his girlfriend feeling alone, and he's telling her that he will never leave her, she could be the queen of everything, she just has to believe.
  
  "I will be your guardian when all is crumbling."
  He'll be there for her whenever she needs him, maybe she's had a tough time?
  
  "Somethings we don't talk about, rather do without, just hold a smile."
  She doesn't open up much, and doesn't talk about her emotions.
  
  He's saying that she can trust him, he won't leave her, and he's there for her.
  
  This is just what I get from it, but it's a beautiful song no matter how you see it.

  General Comment:In the version I have on my iPod, it actually has both lyrics.

  But there may be another version without 'the same damn problem,' because my sheet music for the song is missing that line.

  My Opinion:I can't listen to this song without getting emotional or start thinking deeply. It's just that touching to me.
  
  I agree with everything that has been said up to this comment on the song's initial meaning. It's a great song, thus it can have multiple interpretations and people can relate to it depending on their own experience.
  
  In my case, it was with this girl I met on the internet. She was my age, nearly all the same interests and preferences, and she was one hell of a fun chick. Unfortunately she lived far far away. All summer long we were chatting and we slowly became best friends, only to find out we had feelings for each other. To add to that, she was my very first true love. About a month ago she decided it was best for us to break up because if we ever met it would be years away from now. I begged her not to let me go but it didn't help. We still maintain contact now through Facebook and stuff but it's obvious that we'll never be the same as we were before the relationship. I still regret all this and sometimes I wish I never fell in love; then again that's one of my most bittersweet experiences in life so far.
  
  So, I guess it's just that; "don't let me go, don't let me go", but you have no power over that. Excellent song and The Fray is at their peak.

  General Comment:I think this song is about a couple that have a dead relationship. But they won't end their relationship but are afraid to live alone, so they stay with each other even when they fall out of love, but eventually they fall back in love because of sticking it out, but it's not a good relationship so they always fall out of love again.. But they are so afraid of being alone whenever one gets to the point where they want to end it, the other one freaks and says "don't let me go" and that's basically the whole relationship.
