Lyrics for Him as interpreted by feel me loud

Him Lyrics
Would you please take me away from this place
I cannot bear to see the look upon your faces
And if there is some kind of god do you think he's pleased
When he looks down on us I wonder what he sees
Do you think he'd think the things we do are a waste of time
Maybe he'd think we are getting on just fine
Do you think he's skint or financially secure
And come election time I wonder who he'd vote for

Ever since he can remember people have died in his good name
Long before that September
Long before hijacking planes
He's lost the will he can't decide
He doesn't know who's right or wrong
But there's one thing that he's sure of this has been going on too long

Do you think he'd drive in his car without insurance
Now is he interesting or do you think he'd bore us
Do you think his favourite type of human is caucasian
Do you reckon he's ever been done for tax evasion
Do you think he's any good at remembering people's names
Do you think he's ever taken smack or cocaine
I don't imagine he's ever been suicidal
His favourite band is Creedence Clearwater Revival

Ever since he can remember people have died in his good name
Long before that September
Long before hijacking planes
He's lost the will he can't decide
He doesn't know who's right or wrong
But there's one thing that he's sure of this has been going on too long

Ever since he can remember people have died in his good name
Long before that September
Long before hijacking planes
He's lost the will he can't decide
He doesn't know who's right or wrong
But there's one thing that he's sure of this has been going on too long

Its all about dissing God.

It is not about dissing god you idiot, it is about how wrong our scoiety is.
"And if there is some kind of god do you think he's pleased
When he looks down on us I wonder what he sees" she is saying what would god think of all the stupid decisions we make.
I personally love the new direction she has gone in.

*sigh* could we grow up and not play the name game?

and she is too dissing God!

"He's lost the will he can't decide
He doesn't know who's right or wrong"

its like shes saying He cant do His job right.

She's just pondering her own religious belief, and her own image of whatever god she may or may not believe in... And saying "her album is trash" without backing up your opinion or giving reasons really isn't saying anything of substance. I think her new album is a really intelligent critique on society, and that the songs that go outside of herself are very insightful and prove her to be a fast maturing artist.

According to Rolling Stone, this song is about George W. Bush.

It's very obvious, people.

it does seem to be about george bush after the first verse.
the first verse reminds me of how i am with my religious beliefs; is there really a god? and how could he possibly love us, we're full of sin.

but yeah, this is a great song, it has nothing to do with dissing god. dont be childish and think just because the word "god" is in it, meens that its truly going to be all about him. use your minds.

No, "Fuck You" is about George Bush.

it's not dissing God, its sympathising with Him and dissing society.

and markiee55, the "He's lost the will he can't decide/He doesn't know who's right or wrong" bit isnt saying he cant do his job, its saying He's so exasperated by the state of the world, and he doesnt know which of His 'children' to back.

I was thinking about how the song could be about GB, or God, because of the line about "that September"
I'm wondering if she meant George Bush as God, in the way he's had such a control over the world, and the song could be aboue Lily wondering what he thinks about what he's done...

can i just ask...what makes you think its about bush??
she says "Ever since he can remember people have died in his good name"
its definitely about god but its not 'dissing' him really
shes just asking what hed be like and how hed react to what we humans do.

What does she mean 'Do you think his favourite type of human is caucasian?', I had to stop the song and repeat that part, what is she implying? Her race is better (white supremacy?) Maybe im over exaggerating since on 'F**k You' she denounces racists, dissing them 'your just some racist who can't tie my laces'.

lily is most definitely not god-bashing in this song. she is, however, bashing people who do terrible things in the name of religion. such as the 9/11 reference, and saying people have died in gods name before then (crusades, etc). and a lot of the song is sarcastic in a way, such as the caucasian part. and she criticizes society in most of this, and the stupid things we do. shes basically questioning her own religion and basically asking god who is right. its a rather good, insightful song.

I love this, I can listen to it so many times.
I love it 'cause she points all the bad things about society today.
I'm not too into god but I love that she brings him up and questions all the people that do bad but believe in god. or God, I think(?) it should be capitalized.

Eh, I don't think this song is about George W. Bush, she's not from the states. I think these lyrics reflect her outlook on the world as a whole i.e. society today. This along with "Everyone's At It" are so good at playfully dissing the world. I LUFF LILY

Fuck you is about GWB not this song. I find it a little insulting that people think our lil can only write about an american all the time. go and look on her myspace if your unsure.

Anyways the song. Love the lyrics. It is about God but the idea of giving him form can make her relate the big questions she has more. Like which one is the right one. Why do bad things happen. Etc.

It's obvious this is about God, but it is really just reflecting the negatives of society. The idea of 'god' whether he is existant or not, is merely used as a tool to convey the idea of humankind not being idealistic or what is thought to be the preffered way for people to live.

I think this is a really groundbreaking song, all those who are offended need to get a backbone and move on, Some Christians these days are far too sensitive, they have to wake up to the real world.

This is obviously NOT dissing God. It's about how God wouldn't be happy about how screwed up our world is, and how maybe God Himself is even overwhelmed by it. Notice how she says "He's sure it's been going on too long." She's saying that He's sick and tired of society's bullshit and it needs to stop. She's also saying that (well in the song she says she's wondering but it's obvious it's satire) God hates how we treat people who are different from us, and how he doesn't favor white people ("Do you think his favourite type of human is caucasian?") over anyone else, but how our society obviously does and it has to stop.

this song is definitely about bush
do you really think that god's favorite band would be creedance clearwater revival?
and people have been dying in his name
bush sr. did have a war of his own and people died in the bush name
i think the god bit is kinda random

lol how is it about GWB, thats totally out there to think that, its definitely about god. it's fully self explanatory

'if there is some kind of god do you think he's pleased
When he looks down on us I wonder what he sees
Do you think he'd think the things we do are a waste of time
Maybe he'd think we are getting on just fine'

she's pondering what god thinks.

but i don't get the CCR (Creedence clear water revival reference, i looked them up, but i dont understand what their style has to do with god? is it that rock/pop is frowned upon by strict christians?? is it frowned upon?

but anyway, awesome as song, as usual, birsting with revalance to everything in society today.

like theres always been wars, and death, and bad things happening, like all these wars loosely based on religion but only after

'Ever since he can remember people have died in his good name
Long before that September
Long before hijacking planes'

9/11 does anyone start worrying about the people dying in other countries, merely because looking like they care will get them re voted in. and im not just talking bout america

Though she may mean more by it, I chuckled at the Creedence Clearwater Revival reference just because it rhymed with the previous line and it was a random band name that she could choose that fit the syllables of the song and still rhyme.

I guess I could see how some could interpret lines of this song as towards George W. Bush, but I really don't think that's it. Honestly, it feels like the same reasons why I am not religious. She's discussing all these hypocrites who use religions that often decry violence and hatred to commit violent and hateful acts. (Murdering Dr. Tiller in his own church would be a pretty recent and prominent example.) As if it somehow makes those acts more justifiable to attach the name of God onto them.
