come on down, the furthest reaches of your nowhere town
they suck you in, the black hole kids wont let you free again
dont you try to shoot up the sky
tonight well stay alive
when its gone, you sit and stare
until the golden dawn
cant you see his arms are a hell and you wont ever leave?
they suck you in, the black hole kids wont let you free again
dont you try to shoot up the sky
tonight well stay alive
when its gone, you sit and stare
until the golden dawn
cant you see his arms are a hell and you wont ever leave?

The Vivian Girls song Death also refers to staying alive and came out the previous year.
I have wondered if the Golden Dawn line is a reference to the occult group at the beginning of the last century that had as members Aleister Crowley and W.B. Yeats.
And I think it's about being so happy in the arms of someone you love but know it's bad for you, about just wanting to enjoy the moment, to forget about the harm that may come from that relationship, and realizaing that happiness can easily turn inyo you geting lost and trapped... I'm not sure, but right now it sounds like that.
And I could not agree anymore about being so happy in the arms of someone you love but can't have...yet, so much wanting to enjoy that moment and feeling lost, trapped and totally torn. This band make me feel this way & yet make me feel all will be ok.
