We'll end up numb from playing video games
We'll get sick of having sex
And we'll get fat from eating candy
As we drink ourselves to death

We'll stay up late making mix tapes
And photoshopping pictures of ourselves
As we masturbate to those pixelated videos
Of strangers fuckin themselves

We are very busy people
We are very busy people

There are crusty sox and boxes making trails straight to the bed
And when we're done sleeping
We'll stay busy dreaming of the things we don't have yet

Well there's a long long list of chores and shit
To do before we play
Let's just piss away the day
Crank-call the cops down at the station
Just for friends conversation
Requesting songs they never play

Lets hear the on that goes:
We are very busy people
We are very busy people
But we always got time for new friends

So come over and knock on our door
It's open, what you waitin for?
We might be sprawled out on the floor
But we still make lovely company
Pull up a chair
Ill pour some tea
We'll shoot the shit 'bout everything
Till you get tired and flip on the TV screen
We stare at the TV screen

That Danny Darki DVD has been repeating for a week
We know every single word
I've got an iPod like a pirate ship
I'll sail the seas with fifty thousand songs I've never heard

All the best of them go
Fa-la-la-la-la-la

We are very busy people
We are very busy people
But we've always got time for new friends

Fa-la-la-la-la-la

I think this is obviously sarcasm. It's the classic life of any hipster. They like to think that they are creative, political, and intellectual. They like to think that they are well read and have a fantastic taste in music. And because of all this, they think that they are contributing to society and are "very busy people." But what are they really doing? Drinking themselves to death and making mixtapes.

I don't know if this is what they mean it as. but it could be sarcasm.

all these unimportant things happening.. saying that they are "busy" when intact they are doing nothing...

I don't really think that's what they are talking about. I just think it's a groovy tune. :)

Judging by the general style of so many people i know, i'd say they're totally serious, and just don't really care

This song is the shizz! lol I love the Danny Darko part too. At least it sounds like Danny not Donnie, but I could be wrong, I never saw it. I am so jealous of that dude who got to meet them they seem like really cools guys. I heard the lead singer used to be in a metal band?! Hmmm... Well I think I like this better anyway. This song has been my summer anthem lol i AM very busy, THANK YOU very much! hahaha watching TV in a laZboy can be taxing.. WHEWW! Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
