Lyrics for Breakin' as interpreted by thoseguiltyeyes

Breakin' Lyrics
Hold on tight
Wrap your arms around me
Till your knuckles are burnin' white
And all your tears
(All your tears)
Couldn't match the bitter taste
Of all these wasted years

And all you
Take, take
Everything that wasn't even yours
Wait, wait
You don't got a hold on me anymore

In a clear view
There's a silhouette
And I watch you
And I can't forget
(Knew we were done when you locked that door)
Yeah, I've figured it out now
Breakin's what the heart is for
When I see you in a silhouette
And you hold close
Do you feel regret?
(Keeping me down when I hit that floor)
Yeah, I've figured it out, girl
Breakin's what your heart is for

So long
I've had to bite my tongue
But what's the point
If the feeling's gone?
I turn my head
(Turn my head)
Blind, I only seize a memory
But all I see is red
(All I see is red)

No, don't, don't
Say it didn't happened that way
I won't, won't
Believe another word that you say

In a clear view
There's a silhouette
And I watch you
And I can't forget
(Knew we were done when you locked that door)
Yeah, I've figured it out now
Breakin's what the heart is for
When I see you in a silhouette
And you hold close
Do you feel regret?
(Keeping me down when I hit that floor)
Yeah, I've figured it out, girl
Breakin's what your heart is for

(Break, break, break, break, break, break)
Yeah, breakin's what your heart is for
(Break, break, break, break, break, break)
Yeah, breakin's what your heart is for

And not a soul sleeps
Another heart skips the beats
With every note that you wrote
And I hope that you choke
On the lines
You're wasting my time
Another heart beats tonight

In a clear view
There's a silhouette
And I watch you
No, I'll never forget
(Knew we were done when you locked that door)
Yeah, I've figured it out now
Breakin's what the heart is for
When I see you in a silhouette
And you hold close
Do you feel regret?
(Keeping me down when I hit that floor)
Yeah, I've figured it out, girl
Breakin's what your heart is for

(Break, break, break, break, break, break)
Yeah, breakin's what your heart is for
(Break, break, break, break, break, break)
Yeah, breakin's what your heart is for
(Break, break, break, break, break, break)
Yeah, breakin's what your heart is for
(Break, break, break, break, break, break)
Yeah, breakin's what your heart is for

this is easily the best song from the new record, the chorus is so catchy, but i somehow can't figure out the meaning.

I think (I'm not sure though) that it's about a girl who's been messing around a guy and basically lying to him a lot.

"Yeah, I've figured it out, girl
Breakin's what your heart is for"
- Her heart is made for breaking other people's, like she has done his.

"With every note that you wrote
And I hope that you choke
On the lines
You're wasting my time
Another heart beats tonight"
- You lied to me a lot and I hope you suffer for it, you're wasting your time if you're trying to get me back because I'm moving on.

:)

I think this song is simply about a guy who finds out his girlfriend has been cheating on him. He has clearly been hurt like this before, and reaches the conclusion that falling in love only leads to having your heart get broken. When he says "breakin's what your heart is for," he is not necessarily saying that he wishes that the girl gets her heart broken; instead, he is simply saying that he has figured out that love isn't really all that it's cracked up to be. It's a wonderful song to listen to when you feel like someone has broken your heart.

I think the guy is just out of a bad relationship, and it broke his heart. Clearly he feels the girl didnt try enough or she was never fair in the relatiosn ship "take take everything that wasnt even yours". She just took and took and that just broke them apart. He feels he just wasted his time with her "all these wasted years". He has known for a long time that the relationship was going nowhere "so long i had to bit my tongue" but he gave up cause she left him. She maybe was unfaithful and lied "won't won't believe another word that you say" and after she took all and ended the relationship she kicked when he was down "keeping me down when i hit that floor". So the relationship ended in a fairly bitter way and he says "hope that you choke on the lines". He also is asking if she regrets leaving or wasting all those years but in the end he just concludes that "breakin's what the heart is for". That's just what i think anyways =P.

oh my GOd, I love this song. It's one of the best off the new AAR album. Luv it. I think it's about a guy who was with a girl, and she broke his heart. ANd now he comes to a conclusion, that "breaking is what the heart is for" as in, hearts are made to be broken. I'm a girl, so when I sing this song to myself, I exchange the "figured it out, girl" for "figured it out, boy". But the song defintely rules. Especialy if you're packing up your room full of stuff cos yur moving. I played this song and got pumped for packing my stuff (which, by the way, packing so you can move, is deadly boring. I fell asleep numerous times)

"In a clear view
There's a silhouette"

this phrase, i figure out the meaning... silhouette is suppose to be unclear, usually when we see a silhouette we cant actually straight away figure wat is it... but it says, "in a clear view, there's a silhouette".... meaning their relationship is so obvious that this relationship is getting blurrr....

anyone get what i mean? ^^ its ok if u dun, because i told many people about this but none of them get it... maybe u all get another way of thought about this phrase...

This is my favorite song off the new CD and I hope that it gets released as a single.

I find a bit of humor on how painfully obvious it is to realize when you were in a bad relationship once it is over but don't have much of a clue when it's all happening. Love is such a powerful feeling. It can control you and make you do things that you never in a million years thought you would do. It blurs your judgement and makes you put up with bad people just because you feel such a strong connection to them. This is what this song is about, a bad relationship. The breakup was difficult and he got his heart broken as a result. He realized how she held him back and broke him down and wonders if she regrets the way she treated him.
