Well it's midnight, damn right, we're wound up too tight
I've got a fist full of whiskey, the bottle just bit me
Ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh
That shit makes me bat shit crazy
We've got no fear, no doubt, all in balls out

We're going out tonight
To kick out every light
Take anything that we want
Drink everything in sight
We're going till the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight
Ooooohhhhhhh

We're screaming like demons, swinging from the ceiling
I got a fist full of fifties, the tequila just hit me
Ooooohhhhh
We got no class, no taste, no shirt, and shit faced
We got it lined up, shot down, firing back straight crown

We're going out tonight
To kick out every light
To get anything that we want
Drink everything in sight
We're going till the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight
Ooooohhhhhhh

Ticking like a time bomb, drinking till the nights gone
Well get you hands out of this glass, last call my ass
Weeelllll no chain, no lock, and this train won't stop
We got no fear, no doubt, all in balls out

We're going out tonight
To kick out every light
To get anything that we want
To drink everything in sight
We're going till the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight
Ooooohhhhhhh
We're going out tonight
To kick out every light
To get anything that we want
To drink everything in sight
We're going till the world stops turning
While we burn it to the ground tonight

General Comment:To KeEtMC: I understand where you are coming from but lyrical sophistication and emotional depth are not the point of this particular song. The persona taken on by the band when they sing is that of a strong, gruff, often disaffected man whose life never seems to straighten itself out. Much of Silver Side Up was about working through a bleak, angry landscape and facing down everything from child abuse (Never Again) to the death of a loved one (Woke Up This Mornin') and deep rural povery and abandonment (Too Bad), and then entering the upper echelons of society and finding it to be no more hospitable or accepting, even of its own, than the angry world they left (Hollywood, Money Bought). On a more personal level, the mix of anger and wry tenderness in How You Remind Me is incredibly poignant. As a whole, that entire collection represented a level of emotional force and depth couched in lyrical simplicity unlike anything I had listened to before or since (with the exception of Bruce Springsteen's album The Rising). Conceptually speaking, All the Right Reasons represented a softer side to the band (songs like Far Away and If Everyone Cared in particular, but also the only truly angry/militant songs on that CD were Next Contestant, Side of a Bullet, and Fight For All the Wrong Reasons, and even that last one was more conflicted than usual). From what I have heard, it appears that Dark Horse is attempting to weave together the old and the new, and thus return in part to the rough, tough, disaffected persona from Silver Side Up. This song essentially represents the flip side of that persona. While he is able to bear a level of pain, guilt, and anger that is nearly impossible to carry for most of us because his toughness shelters him, that same toughness also means that he (the persona) has no problem getting together with his buddies at a bar, getting ten kinds of shitfaced, acting like a wild man, and getting aggressive with anyone standing between him and more liquor. The point I am trying to make here is that we do not have to feel guilty about loving this song for its power despite its raw, unsophisticated, in some ways primitive attitude because it rounds out the album more and there is more than enough other material on the album to carry the lyrical weight.

General Comment:This song is why Nickelback keeps selling thousands of records and why the critics don't understand. They can't "Figure it Out", no pun, okay, maybe a little. NB was the top grossing tour in the last decade, cause of songs like this. Like the album version? Check them out live, 50 times better....amazing! Have seen this tour twice and would definately drop the $$ to see them again. Last time was right up against the stage, grabbing beers and all from them. Couldn't hear for two days afterwards, lol! Song says it all... "...we're wound up too tight. I gotta fist full of whiskey, the bottle just bit me.....ohhhhhhhhhhh, that shit makes me bat (fat) shit crazy!!"

My Opinion:This is the worst written song I have ever heard. Let me explain why. The song is just about binge drinking and causing havoc. Have you people any idea what drinking does to a person? I've seen many lives destroyed by alcohol so I, for one am totally against drinking. Chad Kroeger, the songwriter uses elementary school type rhymes (ex. "That shit makes me bat shit crazy") and nonsensical phrases added to make it rhyme (ex. "I got a fist full of whiskey, the bottle just bit me", "We got it lined up, shot down, firing back, straight crown", "Well get your hands off of this glass, last call my ass"). It is a complete disgrace that repeats the phrase "all in, balls out" twice.

And it basically rips off "Walk" by Pantera.

Go ahead, tell me to fuck myself, tell me that my opinion is wrong, insult me and say things that you know are only assumptions about me. I honestly don't care.

    Peace!

General Comment:Quite a kick-ass song. Just about livin' it up and getting drunk as hell.

While I'm not too big a fan of Nickelback's newer stuff, I gotta agree that they're one of the biggest bands of today.
It's catchy songs like this that everyone can just scream their hearts out to that makes them famous.

General Comment:This is in my opinion Nickelback's best song they ever made. I can't seem to get sick of it like I do with most Nickelback songs.

And for billsby to say Nickelback is worthless...are you fucking serious? You don't have to like them, but this band can quit today and I will gurantee they would still get into the rock and roll hall of fame. The have multiple number 1 hits on every album they come out with. You sound like the people that say Metallica sucks. Stats don't lie. You are in the minority of alternative rock fans with disliking Nickelback.
