The morals swallowed by the waves sway inside the basket and sleeps
The rain drops onto this earth and doesn't stop
It keeps on hitting the ground
Even the love that's locked inside the shell, is swallowed by the heartless beast
What makes them do it?
I put my hand on my heart
The baby's first cry disappears with yesterday
It disappears without even being able to let out a word
Was it freedom that we won?
Feeling the body temperature of my dreams and I pray
My eyes shut closed
It disappears without even being able to let out a word
Was it freedom that we won?
Feeling the body temperature of my dreams and I pray
Everything gets wasted
Deep into the red darkness
The life I hold high and proud of
The rain drops onto this earth and doesn't stop
It keeps on hitting the ground
Even the love that's locked inside the shell, is swallowed by the heartless beast
What makes them do it?
I put my hand on my heart
The baby's first cry disappears with yesterday
It disappears without even being able to let out a word
Was it freedom that we won?
Feeling the body temperature of my dreams and I pray
My eyes shut closed
It disappears without even being able to let out a word
Was it freedom that we won?
Feeling the body temperature of my dreams and I pray
Everything gets wasted
Deep into the red darkness
The life I hold high and proud of

well anyway, great song, i always go to sleep on it
Then, "even the love that is locked inside the shell is swallowed by the heartless beast, what makes them do it?" The shell could be either the womb or a cradle; maybe even an incubator or whatever is called. The heartless beast could be the mother aborting or the person who killed the baby. Then he asks what makes people do such thing.
"Deep into the red darkness" could be about blood. If this song was about abortion, maybe the mother bleeds out... She feels dizzy ("everything gets twisted") and then she dies, thou I don't really get the part when he says "This life I hold high and proud.. " if it were about abortion or killing a child... It's just a wild guess...
I still don't think it has to be about just that; "arasoieta mono" seems to signify more warfare than anything else, being that which you fought for.
I think there's still a certain amount of disconnect from the original lyrics and the translation. But yes, I can see where you're coming from.
"The morals swallowed by the waves, sway inside the basket and sleep"
Much like Jaitara already said, he's describing how our sense of morality and meaning is slipping away in a world where people can have promiscuous sex then snuff out the responsibility and meaning that comes with it.
"Was it freedom that we won?"I almost cried when I read this. Wagahomodachi, I think this line definitely fits with the abortion theme. In the name of freedom, we're taking the lives of our unborn babies obviously without their consent. Also, our own freedom is tainted with guilt, and having meaningful relationships with others is becoming more and more difficult.
"It disappears without even being able to let out a word
Was it freedom that we won?"
I think it could also be referring to war. I infer that from the line "was it freedom that we won?" That one line doesn't quite seem to fit in with the abortion theme, although I once thought it did.
"It disappears without even being able to let out a word" -- that could be the people who are destroyed before they know what hit them.
The rest doesn't really conflict with it either (and maybe is strengthened, like by "the heartrending beast"). Perhaps the baby, shortly after birth, was killed in a time of war. And the mother is left wondering why it has to be this way. The lines in the end don't fit all too well though.
Just enjoy the music.
This song is amazing and it's my favorite off of the new album =3
How can you ask that? Why are you even here? :P
"The morals swallowed by the waves, sway inside the basket and sleep"
"It disappears without even being able to let out a word
Was it freedom that we won?
Feeling the body temperature of my dream and I pray
Everything gets twisted
Deep into the red darkness
This life I hold high and proud.. "
Something pure and beautiful was shattered; the goals and ideals that were so deeply cherished within some great strugle were lost, perverted, became depraved somehow... and no one remembers. Everyone has forgotten what it meant, what the purpose was to it all in the first place. Almost mindlessly, a true and benevolent thing was twisted until it became something disgustingly opposite to what it should have been, and no one remembers what it was for anymore.
It could be about a myriad of things. Abortion...A hope crushed.
I feel like the title says it all "An Inconvenient Ideal"...its life. A very jaded view of what the world has become, and how the choices people have made in the name of freedom and free choice, are destroying us.
I love this part "Was it freedom that we won?
Feeling the body temperature of my dream and I pray
Everything gets twisted
Deep into the red darkness
This life I hold high and proud.."
It's like him saying wow...this is what we did. The world is going to hell...this is what I did with my life...I"m not happy with myself.
I LOVE THIS
