Tell me that you wanna dance
I wanna feel your pulse on mine
Just treat me like a stolen glance
To yourself

A dark shape on a golden floor
A sleeping planet with a molten core
From above we'd cut a slow eight shape
And much more

I'm a peasant in your princess arms
Penniless with only charm
As we're leveled by the low, hot lights
And disarmed

I'm not afraid of anything even time
It'll eke away at everything but we'll be fine

I'm folded in the bread you made
You're cold until my body bathes
You in the heat I kept aside
All these days

I'm not afraid of anything even time
It'll eke away at everything but we'll be fine
I'm not afraid of anything even time
It'll eke away at everything but we'll be fine

General Comment:Every time I listen to this song, I picture it playing behind a scene in a movie where we see an overhead shot of a couple dancing all alone in a magnificent ballroom/study type room (a la Beauty and the Beast, maybe)on a golden-colored wood floor, big chandeliers and just a real warm feel to the shot. Then it would cut to a passion-filled love scene where you can practically feel the burning love between the two of them like for a moment there is no one else on earth or anything going on.

Just my thoughts on an awesome, passionate song. Snow Patrol is amazing.

My Opinion:This has always been my favourite Snow Patrol song, it's just so eerie and beautiful and even though it has a slowe beat, you still want to dance to it. <3

General Comment:The backmasking in the beginning of the song says

I'm not afraid of anything even time
It'll eke away at everything but we'll be fine

In case anyone wanted to know. I know I did.

General Comment:My ipod was on shuffle and this song came on. I had just added the album a few days before and hadn't listened to it yet. I honestly thought it was Beck. I was amazed at the beat and the eerie chorus.

As for the lyrics, it comes across as simple- almost desperate adoration for the person they are referring to. I can't stop listening to this. <3

General Comment:It almost sounds like someone is trying to describe the love between him and his love in a very special way.
    With metaphores (:

General Comment:Isn't it: "It'll leak away" or something?

General Comment:I used to be in dance classes, and this song makes me want to go back and choreograph. It's such an interesting beat.

It also reminds me of something The Shins would produce. I love it.

General Comment:I'd never heard of the word "eke" before, but I looked it up:
–verb (used with object), eked, ek⋅ing.
    1. to increase; enlarge; lengthen.
    —Verb phrase
    2. eke out,
    a. to make (a living) or support (existence) laboriously: They managed to eke out a living by farming a small piece of land.
    b. to supplement; add to; stretch: to eke out an income with odd jobs.

I do like this song, particularly the images the first few verses conjure up! As much as I enjoy the louder ones (like "Please Just Take....") I think the quieter songs complement the album nicely.
