We cut the legs off of our pants
Threw our shoes into the ocean
Sit back and wave through the daylight
Sit back and wave through the daylight

Slip and slide on subway grates
These shoes are poor mans ice skates
Fall through like change in the daylight
Fall through like change in the daylight

I miss yellow lines in my roads
Some color on monochrome
Maybe I'll paint them in myself
Maybe I'll paint them in myself

These sidewalks liquid then stone
Building walls and an old pay phone
It rings like all through the daylight
It rings like all through the daylight

And in the daylight we can hitchhike to Maine
I hope that someday I'll see without these frames
And in the daylight I don't pick up my phone
Because in the daylight anywhere feels like home

I have five clocks in my life
And only one has the time right
I'll just unplug it for today
I'll just unplug it for today

Open hydrant rolled down windows
This car might make a good old boat
And float down grand street in daylight
And float down grand street in daylight

And with just half of a sunburn
New yellow lines that I earned
Step back and here comes the night time
Step back and here comes the night time

And in the daylight we can hitchhike to Maine
I hope that someday I'll see without these frames
And in the daylight I don't pick up my phone
Because in the daylight anywhere feels like home

General Comment:In Matt and Kim's interview on youtube they say that there is little to no meaning in any of their songs. A lot of it is just random words pieced together.

General Comment:This song is about happiness. It shows that if you find the woman you truly are meant to be with, and you are in love with her, you can do anything in the world and still have fun together.

    Happiness is love, and freedom.

General Comment:I have some questions, since my native language is not English.
Can someone paraphrase the following sentences for me, I don't know what they mean:
    1. Fall through like chance in the dayligh
    2. These sidewalks liquid then stone

General Comment:I like it! Not sure what it's about, but it reminds me of being carefree. I really like the lines: "And in the daylight we can hitchhike to Maine/I hope that someday I'll see without these frames/And in the daylight I don't pick up my phone/Because in the daylight anywhere feels like home."

General Comment:I think the "Someday I'll see without these frames" line is talking about death, about how when we die we won't see with our eyes, (frames), but it doesn't matter, only now matters.

I think the song is about life and death and now-ness.

How the organ sound goes up, down, climax.

This song is simultaneously sad and inspiring. Like life. This song is completely rad.

General Comment:I could be looking in to this too much, but doesn't it seem like it's about a homeless person? I mean not everything fits but the especially the line that everywhere feels like home, cutting the legs off pants maybe cause they can't afford new shorts, and other lines fit this well. Anyone agree?

General Comment:Yeah I figured that it was about just living the life without money and not caring.

"I hope that someday I'll see without these frames"

I did feel that he could be talking about picture frames. Like if someone looked at a picture of the Eiffel Tower and thought "I hope that someday I'll see it myself, without the frame."

General Comment:I think this song is all about being poor and enjoying the things in life that are free. sunshine, sliding on metal grates, hitch hiking, not needing phones, not depending on society or materials for fun.
