Wow, I got something totally different. I didn't take it as her saying that she feels just as good or safe sober as she does drunk. I took it as her asking- Hey, how can I feel safe with out drinking? Is it possible for me to feel as good as I do when I’m drunk without paying the consiquences of abusing alcohol?

It's not so much a song about being in love, or breaking up, or any of that bull shit its about what comes at the inbetween moments where you wonder if you'll ever not be a fuck up. The times when you are left to your own devices and have to get to know your self. Question yourself if you are strong enough or lucky enough to find inner peace and strength with out drugs or alcohol, or even a lover.

I think it’s more about just wanting to stand on your own two feet and learn how to support your own weight with out a crutch- which is in this case alcohol.

i think its about reaching a point in life where the drinking just doesnt mask anything anymore. the only way she can feel good about herself now is just by actually doing so, sober. its about being "over" the whole drinking and partying part of life, because it doesn't help disguise the pain anymore. i think its just kinda about growing up, because when we're all teens we just feel like partying and drinking all the time, but as we start to grow up we realize that that "party" girl whos out all night and laughing loud and obnoxiously just doesnt cut it anymore.

It's about how you feel happy, safe & secure about yourself whilst you are in a relationship, but once you break up you loose that sense of security that your partner provides.

So then when you break up, how do you start to feel good about yourself & how to do you find yourself? Sober = being on your own.

many people can relate with this song, and make differenrent analizys. i believed this song is for people who are scared of being alone. these people always find themselves doing things they might not feel comfortble around but they end up doing them because everybody around them is doing it. They feel alone and they find a friend with alcohol and drugs. they don’t realized that they are hooked in that life and can’find a way out. Ehen they are around people who care they feel good sober.

I fell in love with this song because i can completely relate it to cutting/ my craziness.

That is exactly what it feels like to fall into mania at night to me.

I have no idea who i am if you strip away the crazy, its so much a part of me it makes it almost impossible to know myself without the vices i use to keep it at bay.

To me, this song is about addiction of all kinds, not just alcohol. I heard this song on the radio and I started analyzing it.

The use of height to depict sobriety and drunkenness or general vice is common throughout this song. Being "high", usually associated with being drunk, actually means to be "high" above an addiction in the song. Falling represents giving into an addiction.

This song also touches on the reasons people drink alcohol. People drink alcohol to reach new heights and feel better. However, they are sinking lower and lower by giving into the overwhelming power of addiction.

When it's good, then it's good, it's so good till it goes bad." You feel better, but when you become sober, you realize that you have gave into addiction and the party's over.

"How do I feel this good sober?" It feels weird, but you feel better when you are sober, because you were brought down.

Theme: Addiction will never lead to reaching a permanent zenith.

I think this song can discribe all vices, all addictions, and all mental health problems. The word "sober" relates it to a type of addiction or vice, but when I look at it, I can see how this could speak to a wide range of mental health issues. For me, as a person who has dealt with depression all of their life, I see it everywhere in this song.

The idea of not wanting to be who you are, and trying to escape it, knowing that you're only digging yourself deeper, but feeling there is no way out really connects to me.

describes perfectly how it feel to really start spiraling downwards.

i think its about a number of things. its about numbing oneself with alcohol... the song is about a person who is out all night partying but thats not what wants. its " not not the way I want my story to end".

i am up high . its symbolic for being out of reach and thus so is safe cause nothing/ no one can touch her. she is avoiding love by being "high". might also refer to drugs and alcohol. they are her protectors from feeling. but why "can't i fee this good sober" she seems to be find during the day but when the night falls she is weak and she knows she is the one to blame for answering the temptation.

When it's good, then it's good, it's so good till it goes bad... at first it feels good.. you drink more and it feels better... and then you drink more and it starts getting bad.. really BAD
