I don't wanna be the girl who laughs the loudest
Or the girl who never wants to be alone
I don't wanna be there calling 4 o'clock in the morning
Cause I'm the only one you know in the world that won't be home

Ah, the sun is blinding
I stayed up again
Oh, I am finding
That that's not the way I want my story to end

I'm safe
Up high
Nothing can touch me
But why do I feel this party's over?
No pain
Inside
You're my protection
But how do I feel this good sober?

I don't wanna be the girl that has to fill the silence
The quiet scares me 'cause it screams the truth
Please don't tell me that we had that conversation
Cause I won't remember, save your breath, 'cause what's the use?

Ah, the night is calling?
And it whispers to me softly come and play
But I, I am falling
And If I let myself go I'm the only one to blame

[Chorus]
I'm safe
Up high
Nothing can touch me
But why do I feel this party's over?
No pain
Inside
You're like perfection
But how do I feel this good sober?

Coming down, coming down, coming down
Spinning 'round, spinning 'round, spinning 'round
I'm looking for myself, sober
Coming down, coming down, coming down
Spinning 'round, spinning 'round, spinning 'round
Looking for myself, sober

When it's good, then it's good, it's so good 'till it goes bad
'Till you're trying to find the you that you once had
I have heard myself cry, never again
Broken down in agony just tryin' to find a friend

Oh,
Oh,

[Chorus:Repeat x2]

My Interpretation:I think this song means by the first verse is that she doesnt want to stand out. She wants to blend in and not be embarrassed or insecure. And then when she said:" The sun is blinding" part - I think she means that being in the spotlight hurts your eyes, and it makes you feel insecure or scared and what not and she doesnt want to end up like that. And the chorus she just says: I am safe from that stuff, I don't want to be like that, but it always feels like a party when like that. (I DONT KNOW) And by the "I dont want to be the girl to fill the silence" part I think she means, she doesnt want to be the one they depend on to talk or continue the talking. I dont know what the "ah the night is calling" part means, I think the ending of that part "I am the only one to blame" means if she ever fell for it, it must be her fault. and I dont know what else..

Song Meaning:Okay sooo... NO! it is not about her love for somebody (that makes no sense) and it is not about the illuminati! (you are reading into things wayyy to much!) Okay first part:
I don't wanna be the girl who laughs the loudest
Or the girl who never wants to be alone
I don't wanna be there calling 4 o'clock in the morning
Cause I'm the only one you know in the world that won't be home

Okay so its saying on the first line that she doesn't want to become a typical party animal who laughs the loudest, who never wants to be alone. then it says i dont want to be there calling 4 o'clock in the morning. Shes saying that she doesn't want to be everybody's place to call who wants to party. That doesn't want it to be her identity.

    Ah, the sun is blinding
    I stayed up again
    Oh, I am finding
That that's not the way I want my story to end

okay sooo, this one is pretty self explanatory. she is saying that the sun is blinding. which is a classic case of hungover. she stayed up again and thats not the way she wants her story to end. she is saying that staying up all night, drinking and partying is not the way she wants to end her life.

    I'm safe
    Up high
    Nothing can touch me
But why do I feel this party's over?
    No pain
    Inside
    You're my protection
But how do I feel this good sober?

"im safe up high nothing can touch me, but why do i feel this party's over. shes saying that she used to feel safe and comfortable in that lifestyle and there is no way of getting hurt but now she feels like the party's over. she doesn't like the feeling anymore. "no pain inside you're my protection but how do i feel this good sober?" shes talking about the alcohol. it makes her feel invincible. that all her problems go away. and now its impossible for her to feel like herself again.

I don't wanna be the girl that has to fill the silence
The quiet scares me 'cause it screams the truth
Please don't tell me that we had that conversation
Cause i wont remember save your breath cause whats the use?

she doesn't want to be the girl that cant hear the music. She doesn't like the silence. this one is pretty easy to get. Then the part where she says: "Please don't tell me that we had that conversation Cause i wont remember save your breath cause whats the use?" She is talking about how she cant remember anything from that time. She wouldn't be sober.

    Ah, the night is calling?
And it whispers to me softly come and play
    But I, I am falling
And If I let myself go I'm the only one to blame

The party's are call her. it echos in her brain to come and play. She would be the only one to blame if she goes.

When it's good, then it's good, it's so good 'till it goes bad
'Till you're trying to find the you that you once had
I have heard myself cry, never again
Broken down in agony just tryin' to find a friend

Shes saying that when you first start partying that it is fun but then it gets old and you want to go back to your old self. Then you are trying to find your sober self. she doesnt want to hear herself cry anymore. Shes in agony. she wants a real friend to help her through. than those friend that just use her.

THERE YOU GO! proof that is just about her partying and her not being sober. her just trying to find a way out. you guys look into things way too much -.-

My Interpretation:This amazing song of P!nk is obviously about love. She is in a relationship and she tries desperately to not become clingy. She tries to play cool when he doesn't come home, but she stays up at night, waiting for him, anyways. He is her protection/perfection; his love is the drug that gets her high. But, because it's not an actual drug, she's still sober, and his love is making her feel like she's actually on drugs. The bridge talks about getting down from that high, because their relationship breaks down. "It's so good till it goes bad." It applies to almost every relationship. They have a nasty break-up, and the "party's over."

My Interpretation:This song does an amazing job fooling everyone! Yes, this song is talking about addiction, but not the addiction you would think. She's talking about how a long time ago she sold her soul the the devil to become famous and now she regrets it with everything. If you watch the music video this becomes abundantly clear. It shows the struggle between being up high (with god) and the playing in the night with the devil. If you still don't believe me. Let me break down her lyrics.

    "Ah, the sun is blinding
    I stayed up again
    Oh, I am finding
That that's not the way I want my story to end"

The sun that she is referring to is the Illuminati. (Latin for enlightenment) When you sell your soul to the devil for fame, Illuminati is who you answer to. When she talks about staying up again, she's saying that she as once again given into the Illuminati and more and more everyday she is realizing that if she keeps living this life that there isn't going to be anything left of her true self.

    "I'm safe
    Up high
    Nothing can touch me
But why do I feel this party's over?"

Again, here she is talking about being safe with God on her side. The line about the party being over is talking about the end of her carrer. If she decides to go with God, she can be herself and living a normal life instead of going out and getting drunk every night like the media wants her to.

    "No pain
    Inside
    You're my protection
But how do I feel this good sober?"

Here she is obviously sober, so for those of you who think this is about her when she is drunk re-read the lyrics and you will see that this isn't possible. She is yet again talking about God, and how good he makes her feel so that she doesn't need the life of the devil.

"When it's good, then it's good, it's so good 'till it goes bad
'Till you're trying to find the you that you once had
I have heard myself cry, never again
Broken down in agony just tryin' to find a friend"

The first line is talking about how when you live the devil's life everything is great until basically you piss him off, then your life is going to be a living hell. Which if any of you know P!nk's life, she has a very rough time since becoming famous. Line two is talking about how she wishes she could be the old her, before the fame. Line three is her stating that she doesn't want to be like this anymore and that she is going to make a change for the better. Line four is talking about how in life of the devil she just feels so alone so she turns to the only person she knows will listen, God.

Now, Before anyone gets offended by what I wrote, I urge you to do two things. 1.) Keep an open mind of who the God and the Devil are. They might not necessarily be "beings", but more so energies that feed on human emotion. (the more people believing in them, the stronger they are and vice versa) 2.) Look into the Illuminati, It is a group of elties that control the human population by controlling the media, government, and "religion"

General Comment:I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE P!nk (and hate that her name is often written incorrectly on music sites). The lyrics are obvious and the sentiment is that which anyone who is an alcoholic (or who suffers from another addiction) can relate. P!nk seems to write/pick songs that speak to the average Joe (regardless of gender)...she's like the working man's hero...stressing strong independence and acceptance. I have loved her work since she first hit the scene. Just a great artist...and this song is one of her sad ones.

General Comment:I love this song, and for me, it is about that moment when you realize you are not a prisoner of your obsession anymore, (this obsession can be anything, drugs, alcohol, a person, doesn't matter), when following perhaps years of slavery - your sober state becomes good and natural again, not just something temporary controlled by your obsession.

General Comment:This song gets me every time. I am not an alcoholic (too much of a sleazy light weight to drink often), but I have known my share of alcoholics and the disease runs rampant in my family. P!nk, whom I adore, captures the feelings of a young alcoholic. It is a gut-wrenching song that I believe many can identify with...
