We have to find a better way
Out of this tragedy
As the battle rages on
Blood stains the ground we're on
My ears hear only screams
Brave soldiers are dying
One spartan stands alone and shouts
This war is ours.

This war is ours!

Yes, I will see you
Through the smoke and flames
On the front lines of war
We have to find a better way
And I will stand my ground until the end
Till we conquer them all
We have to find a better way.

Through the fire and the flames
A sea of dead drives men insane
We march the fight into the cold
This is as far as it will go
The battle ends on top of here
This is where we conquer fear
On blackout armed with our swords
This war is ours.
Yeah.
This war is ours.

Yes, I will see you
Through the smoke and flames
On the front lines of war
We have to find a better way
And I will stand my ground until the end
Till we conquer them all
We have to find a better way.

Till we conquer them all
We have to find a better way.
Till we conquer them all!

Yes I will meet you.
Through the smoke and flames
On the front lines of war
And I will stand my ground until the end
Till we conquer them all.

We will conquer them all

We will conquer them all

We will conquer them all

This war is ours!
Yeah!
This war is ours!

Yes, I will see you
Through the smoke and flames
On the front lines of war

And I will stand my ground until the end
Till we conquer them all

So I will fight my battle till I fall
And I conquer them all
Till we conquer them all
War! [Repeat: x7]

Go, yeah!
This is war!
War! [Repeat: x7]
This is war!

umm to the people say this song is about halo, just because it says spartan doesn't mean its about halo. you know spartans were real, way back during the times of the greeks.

anyways I think that this song could be about Battle of Thermopylae (Battle of the 300 Spartans), just about spartans in general, or maybe about just war. they could just use spartan as a way of showing respect to a courageous soldier. but about Halo? I don't see it.

I remember i got an issue of AP and it was talking about anticipated albums and ETF was one of the bands featured. I was so excited when i read there was going to be a guillotine part 2. Then the whole Ronnie thing happened but when i saw this song was still apart of the new cd i was sooo happy!

haha i never realized this or the original was about halo. i didnt really know the lyrics but when i read covenant and spartans i was like holy crap. but i think this song was also to combine some elements of their older songs, such as the "Find a better way" parts like in My Apocalypse (which, in my opinion is the best escape song ever)

i agree with microwave. My apocalypse was their best ever. The only song i can actually play by them and thats why. Its just amazing. An yeah thats exactly what i thought when i heard this song. Also i noticed "Through The Fire And The Flames" and the solo kinda sounds dragonforce-ish. if that makes sense lol.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Punchline

Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
