Basically, David (or It, or That Boy) wants to be rescued from his mother, who abuses, torments, and labours him to no end.
I highly suggest you read the book.
*It is very sad and expresses alot too.
I thought it was more about meeting the one person who really changes your life and "rescues you" and helps you for the best...makes sense to me.
