one of my favorites from linkin park. Wonder why no one has commented?

It reminds me of tension between me and my parents occaisionally.
One of my favourites.
It also reminds me of a few other things, about myself.

I think it's about someone who tries to take things away from you. They do things for you and always expect something in return. The chorus is stating that the person doesn't understand what you're trying to tell them when you try to explain things to them. "I want to be in the energy, not with the enemy, a place for my head" A place where there is positiveness (if thats a word) not someone bringing you down. A safe place to rest your head.
At least, that's what I get from it.

Ok this song is basically about being screwed over, this is how i see it:

It makes me think about the way you act for me, you do,
Favours then rapidly
Just turn around then start asking me about,
Things that you want back from me.

Here he's thinking back to when he started seeing this girl how at first she was really generous to him and made him feel really good about himself but as time wore on these favours started wearing out and she began to take advantage of him.

Pretty self explanatory, he's fed up of being messed around and feeling like he couldve done more. This girl was demanding, wanted not only his attention but other guys aswell, he tells her to find someone else to take advantage of as he just wants to clear his head.

Here he's saying he just wants to move on and forget about the situation but this girls preventing him from doing so, still trying to keep a hold on him even though she's the one who ended it. He wants to get out, to meet with other people instead of the 'enemy'.

Here he's showing how angry he is at being 'stepped on', everything seemed under control but she was greedy and wanted more and eventually she'll be the one who ends up all alone.

By the end he realises that she 'tried to take the best of him' and he wont forgive her for it. It's a pretty deep song but something everyone can relate to in a way.

i totally agree with kaoura's message! i can relate to this song on so many different levels. its such great lyrics with a perfect angry music background! it kind of soothes me. weird i know. if you want to anylase this its easy to relate it to relationship thats on the rocks. its coming to the end of its course and the female half is getting insecure and turning into something the guy doesnt recognise anymore and its emotionally tiring him; hes bitter and fed up but theyre not going to let thier relationship die wothout a fight 'cos its obvious they had something good at some point!? anyone agree/disagree?

actually, having just read hurricanes comment. theyve got it spot on. similar to mine but from a different angle.. lol

I love my grandmother[well, you can't pick family], but when I'm mad at her, I listen to this really loud when she's nagging :P

guyz seriously it basicly says it in the song its talking about somone(idk mabey girlfriend) who is a greedy sob and he cant take it anymore

I just recently broke up with my girlfriend.....for 2 damn years I tried to prove to her I loved her and she cheated with me for someone else...but there was a time when she wasn't like that she was once a good person but now she stabs her friends in the back and than expects them to bail her out when she is in a jam

Well it goes on that after I broke up with her she fucked with my mind telling me she still loved me and wanted me back and that she needed me to show that I still loved her... I was stupid than but than I saw what she was turning me in to...she was using me and I was leaving behind the people who truely cared for me....
