Lyrics for Bag It Up as interpreted by dollrock

Bag It Up Lyrics
Gold and silver and sunshine is rising up
Pour yourself another cup of Lady Grey
Take my hand in the meantime, when you've had enough
You'll find me on the end of a runway, babe

Tell the world that you love them in a melody
Send my old piano and a telegram
Gotta get me a doctor with a remedy
I'm gonna take a walk with the Monkey Man

Someone tell me I'm dreaming
The freaks are rising up through the floor
Everything I believe in
Is telling me that I want more, more, more

Lay your love on the fire when you come on in
I got my hee-bee-jee-bees in a hidden bag
Tell me what you desire and we'll bag it up, high

Someone tell me I'm dreaming
The freaks are rising up through the floor
Everything I believe in
Is telling me that I want more, more, more

Lay your love on the fire when you come on in
I got my hee-bee-jee-bees in a hidden bag
Tell me what you desire and we'll bag it up, high

Shine a light on your fire when you come on in
I got my hee-bee-jee-bees in a hidden bag
Tell me what you desire and we'll bag it up, high

It's "take a walk", and the last verse doesn't sound quite right, but I don't think it's "your fire".

whilst the 'hee-bee-jee-bees in a hidden bag' could be seen as an obvious drug reference i think it also can relate to the fact that your hiding your true feelings. "the hidden bag is your soul and when the person 'come on in' they shine a light that lets 'bag it up high' aka increase your happiness. Great tune tho, even if it is just about drug deals... This album is fantastic! btw, rock stars singing about tea > only liam could get away with that haha

okay, the last part of the song he sings...'SHEEYINE A LIGHT ON THE CHOIR, IF YA COME ON IN'...great lyric really.

This song has 3 meanings I believe. Drug references to bagging it up. Figuring out what you want in life, and quite literally grabbing it by the neck and taking it. Also, in regards to laying your love on fire - becoming harder and stronger.

hmm i think i need to reinterpret these lyrics:

i now think its a stab at a snobby, media controlling upperclass - possibly government/religion

"Gold and silver and sunshine is rising up" - very materialistic to put gold and silver before sunshine.

"pour yourself another cup of "lady gray" - they can just sit there and drink tea all day -- they are in control

"Take my hand in the meantime" -- i'm on your side don't worry - yeah, righto...

"you'll find me on the end of a runway" - fashion runway/materialistic or runway as in sending planes off to war

"tell the world that you love them in a melody, send my old piano and a telegram" - non-personal. anyone can send a telegram (were you don't have to talk to people face to face) and an old piano is a sign of wealth and status: i don't need to talk to you, here have something with my office motif on it.

"gotta get me a doctor with a remedy, i'm gonna take a walk with the monkey man" - the monkey men are the common people, or in their eyes cavemen. you need a remedy for when you get back because they are diseased and stupid

"someone tell me i'm dreaming, the freaks are rising up through the floor" - a social commentary about the lower class getting more money and power: the uneducated media fed masses are getting richer

"Everything I believe in is telling me that I want more, more, more" - the poor/other cultures, shouldn't be getting what they want, i want it, i need it, deserve it, i'm better than them.

the heebee-jeebies are fears. if you collect them aka 'bag em up high' and store them aka 'hidden in a bag' - you can acheive things. -- Keep the people in the dark, feed their fears and tell them to buy stuff

-- sounds like modern western society...

Well oasis is one of the very best rock band in the modern era.it ruled when it deviewed and it is also rocking now.... The bag it up is a type of classical music . It means we have to look forward and see the future.. Forget the past and think about future.... It want to say life goes on

Heebie Jeebies is a very popular bar in Liverpool, by where Oasis recorded sometimes and also where Noel has been seen a few times in the past.

I think the song is about heroin (doesn't necessarily mean they've had it). Some of the lyrics are the feelings / thoughts it creates (gold and silver and sunshine, are rising up) and the natural everyday feel it has (pour another cup of tea).

The main give away is "lay your love on the fire" (burn your heroin rocks in preperation), and the dealer will wait with you whilst you crave more as he has it ready on him (I got my hee-bee-jee-bees in a hidden bag. Tell me what you desire and we'll bag it up)
