Lyrics for Catch Me if You Can/Proclamation of Emac... as interpreted by BeMyUnholy

Catch Me if You Can/Proclamation of Emac... Lyrics
I've since fallen glance Paris Tokyo New New New York M-M-M-Mexico
Stay plastic woo ooh
Stay tragic woo ooh
Proclamation of emancipation
Oh dear lord, let me into heaven for just an afternoon.

Oh Sam-I-am
I can't go to sleep without ambien
Seem so happy call me mister goodbye
Say catch me if you can, catch me if you can

Lets talk about the scene for a minute,
I know we ain't been seen in a minute,
We left it for a minute now we all up in it
Baby boy if you've got them big dreams go and get it,
Never been the type with tight jeans, I wont fit it
When I see those scene girls, bet they all gonna get it
And I'm living clean
Now a lot of ya'll won't get it
Now it's mean but I don't give a damn if ya'll don't get it
So fresh and so clean in my new jean
While I'm laughing at the bacon, you're all crying a the clinic
I read a couple blogs and they had my ass livid
But now I've got my own to whirl, gotta live with it
Never played basketball, but I could show you how to dribble
Make your moves in that black hatch back Honda Civic
Like I did in high school, wishin' I could relive it
But I can't so let's go on, give the hook a revisit.

im not sure about the very first word or so, but after that it goes

Swollen glands, Paris, Tokyo, New New New York, M-M-M-M-Mexico.
*Stay plastic, whoa-oh
Stay tragic, whoa-oh
Proclamation of Emancipation
Oh, dear Lord.
Please let me into Heaven for just an afternoon,*
No Sandman --(this im not too sure about, it sounds like what you have too D:)
I can't go to sleep without an Ambien
You see me so hardly, call me Mr. Goodbye
Sayin' catch if you can, yeah catch me if you can.

idk this is just what i heard. this is driving me crazy. im not trying to be a jerk or anything this is just annoying me lol. the part in the *'s though im definitely sure of. i love patrick voice and the part that says "Please let me into Heaven..." :')

LyricsAreHerStory - this was the opening to a new Gym Class Heroes song off their new cd 'The Quilt.' you can hear it on the Citizens For Our Betterment Mixtape. which you can find on Fall Out Boy's friendsorenemies account.

anyway, I made my mom listen to it now, and she said it sounds like "White sand, swollen glands, Paris, Tokyo, etc...." we're still not sure about the rest after "....afternoon." :|

Pretty sure it's "Sam-I-Am", not "sandman" or "seen the end"

"Oh, Sam-I-Am,
can't go to sleep without at AMbien.
So many Z's, they call me Mr. Goodbar.
Saying, catch me if you can
Catch me if you can"

It was on one of Peter's blogs...so I can only assume those are the lyrics.

I always thought it was:

"No seem to end
I can't go to sleep without an Ambien
Z's so hard they call me Mr. Goodbye
Sayin catch me if you can"

That makes the most sense to me

"Seems so hard" and "Mr. Goodbar" make sense because Mr. Goodbar is a candy bar with peanuts in it, thus being hard to chew.

I always thought it was

Oh, Sam-I-am
I can't go to sleep without an Ambien
[I] Seem so hard, they call me "Mr. Goodbar"
Saying catch me if you can

Oh, Sam-I-Am,
can't go to sleep without at AMbien.
So many Z's, they call me Mr. Goodbar.
Saying, catch me if you can
Catch me if you can

I think this is about Pete's insomnia.

"oh, Sam-I-Am"
Sam I Am is a character from a Dr Seuss book "Green Eggs And Ham". From this i gather it was a bed time story read to him, or he read as a child to get him to sleep, "Can't go to sleep without an Ambien" Pete cannot go to sleep without medication. He's basically saying don't bother trying to get me to sleep Sam I Am only meds can help me.

"so many z's call me mr goodbar"
So many z's (he's asleep for a long time) Z's are usually used in cartoons and comics to represent sleeping. Mr Goodbar may be referring to a movie based on a book in 1977 called "Looking For Mr.Goodbar". Mr. Goodbar is a phrase coined by the main character of being "the perfect man". Maybe this means that because he can sleep with the help of medication he can be a normal average man a "perfect man".

"Catch me if you can"
I think this still refers to the Looking For Mr Goodbar movie. The main character is "looking" in the movie for Mr Goodbar. Pete refers to himself as Mr Goodbar he is saying catch me if you can to the person looking.

I'm probably wrong knowing Pete Wentz but that is just my interpretation.

Or it could be "seem so high, they call me Mr. Goodbye," the way it sounds; and it rhymes, too. Ambien is a drug, you get high off a drug. When you're high, you're considered to be "gone," so you might as well say "goodbye" to the person "taking off" or "getting high."
