Black holes.
Unraised moles.
Let's just call them freckles.

Hair cut.
Part left.
Happy on the West Coast.

Coat fell.
Heart swells.
Draped across the sofa.

Sleep well.
I feel you've ruined me forever.

--

I don't want to sound trite, but you were perfect
The way you look could seriously make nature dysmorphic.
I wish that you would kiss me 'til the point of paralysis,
The way I flail my arms in front of you, it just embarrasses
I'll never turn my body clock back.
Think about the things I'm glad I left out,
...
Some things are best left unsaid
...

General Comment:at first i didn't think much of charlotte's cover of this song but it's really grown on me. the beginning isn't as sad as the original but the second part of the song was covered beautifully. it's so... perfect?

General Comment:As the title aptly says, it sure does make the heart swell. It is, in many ways, a sad song of an unattainable or lost love. The composition itself seems divided into two parts: the first, a solemn and hopeless admittance of the singer's emotions; and the second, a rather hoppy and goofy plethora of honest feelings that he felt 'in the moment', having engraved themselves into his mind. The song proceeds to fade out, with his stubborn resolve to remain within that time whilst also hinting that those feelings had not been expressed to the object of his desires. 'Least that's what I think.

Over here at the Pacific, life feels like it moves at a slower, perhaps even happier pace then most of the world. This is how I interpret the title.

To me, this is such an unnatural little song on their WAB WAD album, but it feels precious, like a young kid or something; it almost feels out of place. It also feels less damning and cathartic then the rest of the tracks (which are also beautiful in their own way).

Oh, and to make light of current events, Charlotte- the supposed replacement for Aleks as she returns to her studies- has recorded a cover of this song which can be viewed on the LC! official website/blog. At first, I wasn't expecting much; having grown attached to Aleks' sunny synchro-harmony with Gareth's chaotic voice. After listening however, I was slapped in the face and my day was happily turned around. We're probably all going to miss Aleks very much, but I feel LC! is in good hands. View it at your leisure.

My Interpretation:The whole first half just has this devastating feeling to me. Like he just got back from meeting with this other person, and he's still in some shock and awe about how it's not going to work between them. He gets home, takes off his coat, and then it just all falls apart when it hits him. And it's easy to say that we've all probably felt that feeling of being ruined by another person, because we'll never love someone again, or never find someone that can replace them, etc.
In the second half, it's almost as if he's saying to whatever love he's lost "you were so perfect that everything else around you seems just not right" and we all know that feeling of just wanting to be lost in the moment of a single kiss-especially a last kiss/a kiss goodbye. Talking about flailing his arms seems like he's saying that he's put himself out there so obviously and what he feels for this other person that it almost seems childish, embarrassing--but in the end of it all, he'd never take back a moment of it ("I'd never turn my body clock back")
As for the last two lines, it's interesting. One way to interpret it is that he's hiding something from this other person, whether it be his feelings or something else, but in the end, it's easier to be heartbroken and not go through that agonizing and uplifting moment of telling someone that you love them OR it could be about how he's bitten his tongue so many times about how this other person's hurt him/how they've treated him, and in the end, saying them wouldn't help the situation.

I need to stop listening to this. It's just heartbreaking.
