  General Comment:I spoke with Peter Steel at the bar before a gig, and he told me that this small sound bite represents a motorcycle crash he had back when he was thirty. It must have been bad enough to where he might not have lived, but of course he did, and produced all the great music afterward.
  
  Apparently, the monicker, "30 IF: means, something like, "What if I had died in that motorcycle crash back when I was 30."
  
  I thought it was meaningful.

    actually, this is a bit of play on beatles imagery, symbolish, and myth. On the cover of the beatles album Abbey Road, there is a car with a license plate that says 28IF. Paul was 28 when rumors started of his death . . peter idolized paul . .i'm sure he was inspired by this . .
