I wanna hold 'em like they do in Texas, please
Fold 'em, let 'em hit me, raise it, baby, stay with me (I love it)
Love game intuition, play the cards with spades to start
And after he's been hooked, I'll play the one that's on his heart

Oh, whoa, oh, oh
Oh, oh-oh
I'll get him hot, show him what I got
Oh, whoa, oh, oh
Oh, oh-oh
I'll get him hot, show him what I got

Can't read my, can't read my
No, he can't read my poker face
(She's got me like nobody)
Can't read my, can't read my
No, he can't read my poker face
(She's got me like nobody)

P-p-p-poker face, f-f-fuck her face (mum-mum-mum-mah)
P-p-p-poker face, f-f-fuck her face (mum-mum-mum-mah)

I wanna roll with him, a hard pair we will be
A little gamblin' is fun when you're with me (I love it)
Russian roulette is not the same without a gun
And baby, when it's love, if it's not rough, it isn't fun (fun)

Oh, whoa, oh, oh
Oh, oh-oh
I'll get him hot, show him what I got
Oh, whoa, oh, oh
Oh, oh-oh
I'll get him hot, show him what I got

Can't read my, can't read my
No, he can't read my poker face
(She's got me like nobody)
Can't read my, can't read my
No, he can't read my poker face
(She's got me like nobody)

P-p-p-poker face, f-f-fuck her face (mum-mum-mum-mah)
(Mum-mum-mum-mah)
(Mum-mum-mum-mah)

I won't tell you that I love you, kiss or hug you
'Cause I'm bluffin' with my muffin
I'm not lyin', I'm just stunnin' with my love-glue-gunnin'
Just like a chick in the casino
Take your bank before I pay you out
I promise this, promise this
Check this hand 'cause I'm marvelous

Can't read my, can't read my
No, he can't read my poker face
(She's got me like nobody)
Can't read my, can't read my
No, he can't read my poker face
(She's got me like nobody)
Can't read my, can't read my
No, he can't read my poker face

Can't read my, can't read my
No, he can't read my poker face

Can't read my, can't read my

P-p-p-poker face, p-p-poker face
P-p-p-poker face, f-f-fuck her face (she's got me like nobody)

She's a whore and she's using men and she's so good at hiding it that they don't suspect it until she does it to them?

    Song Meaning

It is certainly about a woman who maintains a cool unfeeling facade, but not necessarily one who is immune to emotional involvement. "Shes gonna love nobody" is the message her face sends, but Russian Roulette is a game with risks for both participants. She prefers to have the upper hand though, concealing any arousal or actual affection, while trying to draw the man in.

Ahhh.. I think I actually got it.

She's with these guys and they're so blinded by her that they think she loves them, but she just wants their money, and that's all she's using them for.

Or I'm wrong and the previous comment is right?

I'm taking the pokerface & gambling lyrics literally.

    Song Meaning

Lady Gaga interpreted "Poker Face" at the 20th Annual White party. "Poker face is the one she puts on while she's with a man but really fantasizing about a woman". As according to Perez Hilton. I found this interesting because I wondered what the meaning really was and I never could come up with one definite answer. So, I hope this helps. It's all about the ladies loving the ladies!

i don't think the song is about leading men on with her money. she is comparing messing with somebody's feelings - with poker. a guy played her and she is acting like she still likes him and then when he falls for her, BAM "can't read my poker face" he'll end up being hurt in the end :) i love those kinds of songs. stupid boys :B

oh and i love the beat to this song. to me, its a mix of old school and new wave pop i like. Lady Gaga seems to be the only latest pop artist that can seem to pull it off. reminds me of Madonna a bit. A new Madonna.

well I was watching an interview with lady gaga and she explained that poker face was about "poker facing" your sexuality. She talked about how she made love with her old boyfriend and she would put on a poker face during the sex. she said she pictured another female to make the sex better for her. i have to say I love this song even more now

It is love glue gun. I typed it wrong. According to Lady Gaga's official lyrics it's also "she's got me like nobody" rather than "she's gonna love nobody" (which is distinctly what I hear), and it's also "I'll get him HOT, show him what I got." I really thought I heard hard. Haha. :]

I definitely hear love game. And lovesickened, if it was "hard" she'd be just a little more trashy. Haha, not that it'd matter, I'd still love her.

it's about her bisexual experiences! whenever she's with a guy she can't let him know that she is actually thinking about a woman

"no HE can't read my poker face SHE'S got me like nobody"

she always leads him on but all she really wants is to be with a woman =)

I finally know what it's about! I read in an article that she said it was about her bisexuality. Her being with a guy but fantasizing about her being with a girl. She has a poker face on so he doesn't know.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
