Lyrics for An Eluardian Instance as interpreted by Warren Judkins

An Eluardian Instance Lyrics
Does she know, you should know
That I am not just searching for some first time high?
I know it's all about perceptions
And I accept you as my very first mover

I remember riding bikes
(I remember riding bikes)
On Koster Island
Plotting midnight raids
On the Swedish plum trees
(That summer)
It was too cold to swim
So we climbed up on the rocky shore
And freaked out on the mountain goats
But they were not impressed or scared of us
Do you remember our last summer as independents?
Do you remember our last summer as independents?
Do you remember our last summer as independents?
Do you remember our last summer as independents?
Do you remember?

I was a foreigner when you appeared
From the shadows at the Mono Club
I was a hater in the depths of an emotional hibernation
You sat me down
We had some drinks and you told me all kinds of insanity
I asked your friend if you were available
She answered, "No, but yes, oh well, oh well, yes and no"

Now I'm viewing my memory reel in reverse
Scrolling back to come to feel your weather then
Now I'm noting the inverse of our parabola
To predict the points of thou-shalt-not-return

This inbreeding of ideas is intolerable
I wish David was here
Can't take your persecution complex
And I'm not going to absorb your stress output anymore
Oh, don't you pimp out my heart, don't you pimp out my heart

Would this song be about when he met his wife? Did he not meet her in Oslo? As aasmund said mono club is in Oslo. Would the last summer as independents be the last summer they were single before they were married? Off of Icons abstract thee, the firsts song du og meg he says "They were married in the summer"

The song is titled after the french poet Paul Eluard who wrote great love poems...kevin barnes wrote this song for his wife...and it is about their time together before they had their first child hence..."Do you remember our last summer as independents?"

Paul Éluard was the pen name of Eugène Émile Paul Grindel (14 December 1895 – 18 November 1952), a French poet who was one of the founders of the surrealist movement. So, when Kevin uses the word "Eluardian", he is talking about this guy.

Why on earth would anyone want to cut the song off at 3:53? I love how unconventional his songs are. It's so refreshing! I'm sick and tired of listening to the same old thing... verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus.

melvun, I'm not sure if he's talking about meeting his wife here or not. I do know that one of the reasons Oslo is so important is because that's where Alabee was born.
