  you can only reasile the real meaning of this song when you're in love. people sometimes find mistakes or say that the words are meaningless..but I think there's more to it!

  in thse lines, this guy, has went through a breakup. He says that he was literally aliv when he was with her but when she left,he's lifeless. he can't breathe, he suffocates, he's lonely,and is mad thinking about her. he wants her back by nay means. he prayed all the gods for her to return, even the ones he doesn't b'live upon!! he's crazy in love and is hurting with the pain of it!!.

  And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and you're OK "
  
  he's lont in this world now. now that she's left,he doesn't know what to do with his own life, for she was the best part. he doesn't know what to say. she's already moved on and has got a new guy, and she's happy. he's choking, what could he say?

  people keep on telling others to move on. they give suggestions,they speak wisely and about psychology. but this guy is so in love that neither heaven nor hell can stop him from grieving. he's fully devoted to her.

  as she's moved on, she's got her bf's heart and also this guy's heart. she knows that he loves her. she's got no burden or pain with her. even if the reason of their breaup was not related to the guy, he still took the blame upon himself to save their relation, but she didn't look back and left him. but even now, he's collecting all the memories that they had together, to make sense why they should be together. thsis happens because the girl has stuck with her word. she hates this guy no, she has given her love to someone else now. this guy is screaming in pain.
  
  the way he sings is so touchy and anybody and start crying!!

  General Comment:I believe that it could mean either he was in jail and he took the blame for smething she might have done "i got tiem while she got freedom" *you took the suitcase i took the blame" however i believe it can go deeper to where it 's jsut about a man who realizes his mistakes and what he should have doen to keep her how he didn't always put her first and now it's already too late to tell her and he is so desperate that he prays to God "praying to a God that i don't believe in" and how he can't go on living without her and it tears his heart that she found someone else besides him"finally met a man who's gonna put her first* and in the end when a relationship breaks it doesn't breakeven meaning one heart hurts more then the others. I can definilitely relate to this song..

  While I'm wide awake she's no trouble sleeping."
  
  He sings about his broken heart and acts as if he is the victim...when he openly admits that he NEVER PUT HER FIRST.
  
  The girl that he sings about realized that she deserved more than he wanted to give her, so good for her. She found someone that could treat her better than he did. She shouldn't be interpreted as the bad guy, just because he's the one singing about the broken heart.
  
  Good song though.

  Memory:I knew a girl who was my other half, we shared a million inside jokes, our love was more real than you could think possible for 13, we were just friends cause of long distance, but we both knew we wished it was more, and being my stupid insensitive self, I put a pic of 2 hot older girls kissing my cheek on fb, she suddenly started acting weird, I'm still not sure if she was jealous cause of the pic, she may have just replaced me, either way, I WAS replaced eventually, at least she claims(no-one will back it up) but she was the first girl I ever cried over, she took the bigger half of my heart with her, it became just another chapter of her past, I'm mostly over her now, plenty of other girls like me, but they still aren't her, for awhile she was still my present though, months after I was in her past, and even now every time I listen to breakeven I have to do my best to hold back tears, it doesn't always work, talking about her still hurts too :(

  My Interpretation:This relates to me in many ways.
  
  I met a girl from a far off land - we spent a magical 3 days together and when it ended i was heartbroken. she had to go back to her country and she met a guy and as per the lyrics "her best days were some of my worst, she finally found a man thats gonna put her first"....
  
  meaning allthough she is happy it kills me inside and i wish it was me making her happy...
  
  the song is also about how when a heart brekas one person alway is hurt more then the other... usually the one whose been rejected

  Song Meaning:The song is about how this girl broke his heart or he broke up with her.. hints the title breakeven! He talks about how she's moved on while he's still heartbroken.
  "While she's moved on I'm still grieving" and " Some of her best days where some of my worst.."He realizes that she was his everything.. " What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you.." And he is heart is broken and he says, "When her heart breaks it don't break even."--> heartbroken...

  Memory:Well this summer I went to a sleep away camp, I met someone there who stayed the whole sumer, while I stayed for half.I was completely heartbroken, and really had wished I had stayed longer.

  After going through this experience I fully feel that I understand this lyric. It is basically about someone who only has their own time,and thoughts that are used to think about someone they love and miss.The other person is free, and enjoying life while you aren't because you care about them and miss them. It's taking up your whole life. Although I did not experience a breakup, I think a breakup would be a good example of something can can easily relate.

  I think these lyrics are about someone (the girl in this song) being content with life and the other person being jealous of their happiness, and jealous of "the new man" in this situation. For me, I relate it to my camp friend finding new adventures to go on without me. It explains how the man in the song cannot sleep because he misses the girl.
  
  
  Well long story short, I used to find this song cheesy, but now every time I hear it I cry. I love it because I relate more than I ever thought possible.

  My Interpretation:I believe that the verse, "They say bad things happen for a reason, but no wise word's gonna stop the bleeding," means that when your upset you don't get comfort from the obvious. Just like if your mom tells you not to run in the house because you could get hurt, but you do anyway and hurt yourself you don't want her to say, "I told you so", you want her to comfort you. Though he is not bleeding physical he feels as if he has been stabbed in the heart. The bleeding could also represent all his emotions coming out, possibly he is crying over the break up that could represent "blood". My interpretation for the line, “‘Cause she's moved on while I'm still grieving," is based on the lyrics from all parts of the song. I feel that he didn't realize what he had until it was gone. He thought she would deal with his attitude and behavior, so he didn't worry, while she got tired of the way he was treating her. She probably dated other guys who didn't treat her with respect either. So when she left him, she got over it really quick, because it was like a “been there, done that” type of deal. The lyric "And when a heart breaks, no, it don't break even..." when someone hurts you they don't cut your heart in two symmetrical halves, it’s torn apart. If you've ever torn a piece of paper apart you know that it doesn't go back together seamlessly, same with your heart. Your heart has a gap that may last forever. Once something is broke, it will always have the scar that reminds you of what happened.
