Good God, if your song leaves our lips
If your work leaves our hands
Then we will be wonderers and vagabonds
They will stare and say how empty we are
How the freedom we had turned us up as dead men

Let us be cold, make us weak
Let us, because we all have ears
Let us, because we all have eyes
How they knew that this would happen
We're so run down
Good God! Can you still get us home

How can we still get home
I'm not dreaming
We're forgetting our forgiveness

Lyric Correction:I could have sworn it was 'Wanderers and Vagabonds" not 'wonders and vagabonds," which doesn't make a ton of sense :s

General Comment:when it says "good God, can you still get us home?" I think it means that in the bible, it says in Philippians 3:20 "But our citizenship is in heaven..." which in the song i think that they are crying out to God, asking "God! In the midst of sin and corruption, do you think we could endure it all and make it to heaven?!
    thats what i think :P

General Comment:I own the hard copy of the CD, and in the album notes it is definitely "wonders" not wanderers. Personally I think wanders fits in better with vagabonds, but the liner notes don't lie. Great song tho!

General Comment:Drummer Aaron Gillespie explained this song to Punkbands.com: "I wrote those lyrics on a plane on my phone. I think in our band we know what our purpose is here and we know why we're here but it's hard to not take advantage of that sometimes and, you know, I'm in a band and it's easy sometimes but it's just a cry to God. Like, is it too late for you to help us out and help us realize that what we have is special?"

General Comment:I'm pretty sure the lyrics are

"Then we will be WANDERERS and vagabonds"

since wonders doesn't make any sense here.

my favorite song off lost in the sound though for sure.

General Comment:basically my interpretation of the song is that during a point of all christian's spiritual walk they question whether to further pursue God or to slowly slip away to the world and fall amonst the shadows. it sounds like that maybe the voice of the song has "backslid" or has forgotten their faith. Many christians, including myself have let themselves fall away from their faith but later ultimately come back to God asking for his forgiveness. "how the freedom we had turned us up as dead men" sounds like many take the freedom God gives us. "were forgetting our forgiveness" is the point where God always forgives our sins if we have Jesus in our hearts. many people forget that and "backslide"- let one sin turn into ten, twenty, then a life full of sin instead of facing that first sin and asking for forgiveness.
