"I don't smoke that much anymore, but if I did I'd take you away and get you so much higher than you already are"
This somewhat contradicts the theory that it is about weed (how could he get a drug higher than it already is?), though it very well could be. Anthony has admitted to being a heavy user of pot in the past and sometimes cocaine.
The part about "x years later I still feel like you're the one" USED to be "x years later I still feel like a child" which really plays into the weed theory being true, feeling childlike during your first use of a drug.
However it is important to note with the "x years" line, he does always recite the number of years he has been together with Meredith.
Anthony isnt one to waste an entire song with the only message, and that being, he loves his wife.. she knows that already.. and he problly does have a song for her. and her only. and thats why you have never heard it. he would rather make you guess what its really about. and if any of you are a big enough fans, you would know that love songs are not really his cup of tea. meredith, is now included in the song. but, it never used to be. In the lyrics, where it says meredith, used to say Mary Jane, years ago...

7 years was on the original saosin ep if im correct i know anthony did the original vocals for it and that songs been out for 6 years now so i dont think its entirely out of the question that it might have been an alliteration back to the concept of 7 years from his time with saosin and how he still feels content within his life.
What a beautiful song
