Save up all the days
Just routine malaise
Just like yesterday
I told you I would stay

Would you always
Maybe sometimes
Make it easy?
Take your time

Think of all the ways
Momentary phase
Just like yesterday
I told you I would stay

Every time you try
Quarter half the mile
Just like yesterday
I told you I would stay

Would you always
Maybe sometimes
Make it easy?
Take your time

Would you always
Maybe sometimes
Make it easy?
Take your time

Always, sometimes
Easy, time

Memory:It's kinda crazy that I should look up the lyrics now. I found this song forever ago and I heard it today and decided to look up the lyrics. Just two days ago I had a conversation with my boyfriend where I unloaded on him that I thought he should break up with me because of my depression and anxiety because it was bothering him a lot and it was putting a strain on our relationship. That it was my "bad side" and if he couldn't deal with it maybe he shouldn't be with me. He then gave me this long speech about how my depression wasn't something that defined me, that I had a bad side but depression wasn't it, it was something I could and would overcome and that he wasn't going to leave me because he loved me. But, I needed to keep working and learn to not unload on him the way I periodically did rather than let my feelings out in little bursts. THIS SONG IS LITERALLY MY LIFE RIGHT NOW.

So yeah I figure its about being in a relationship with someone who is insecure:
"Save up all the days A routine malaise" my habit of bottling myself up and then lashing out periodically. "Think of all the ways Momentary phase" him telling me to think of all the ways to get over this momentary thing. "Every time you try
Quarter half the mile" he told me that even if it didn't feel like much I was much further now than I was when we started our relationship, its in baby steps, take the mile a quarter at a time. "Just like yesterday I told you I would stay" getting repeated so many times is obvious what it means. I've had this conversation more than once, I guess this is the first time it's stuck. "Would you always Maybe sometimes Make it easy Take your time" and just maybe give him a break sometimes, he's not my therapist and I should treat him as such, to take it easy on him. I also picked up on "always maybe sometimes" trying to put it nicely but just feeling a little tired of having to ask for the favor, just a little tired of everything, but still wanting to be there. After all, there's nothing more exhausting that loving someone who doesn't love themselves.

My Interpretation:Well I feel the reasons artists write a song is so people can interpret it the way they like. The mood of the song is very melancholy to me and to me he sounds kind of resigned to this relationship. I suppose this song speaks to me because I am feeling the same way. The first verse says it all, a routine malaise...which is how I am feeling everyday, yet I always stay. This song brings me to tears even though it is so simple and can be interpreted in so many different ways.

General Comment:someone in an earlier comment mentioned that this song sounds like the two week period after a breakup, and i couldn't agree more. the relationship faded for reasons untold and the two lovers had to part ways, perhaps unwillingly. to me this song represents internal struggle, and the process of letting go of someone you love.

    Always, sometimes
    Easy, time

I feel that it's all about being in a relationship where the other person feels insecure.

I keep having to tell you over and over that I am staying, I keep reassuring you and showing you in all kinds of ways that love you and that I am not going anywhere. Could you just for once make it easy for us because I'm getting tired of having to reassure you all the time, it's becoming boring to have to keep telling you.

General Comment:I feel this song has somewhat of "self-loathing" message. It's not necessary to rip apart all these songs, but it's interesting (:

"A routine malaise, just like yesterday, I told you I would stay..."
    and
"Could you always, maybe sometimes, make it easy..."

He feels insecure with himself, and can't help but loathe himself (doesn't everyone, somtimes?)
Whether or not it's directed at a love interest, I don't know - he wants this person to make him feel better about himself, and stop doubting him (I told you I would stay); He's got enough insecurities and doubts of his own without having to worry about this person adding to it.

General Comment:I fell this song is about a guy who like a girl but isn’t sure he should tell her. He wants her to know that he will stay no matter how much it seems like he is. The only reason why he doesn’t tell her is because of what his friends think or what she will think. He clearly likes or loves this girl and wishes that in time the moment will come where he and her are finally together. However, for right now the boy knows he’s in love and will never leave.

General Comment:Fuck this stupid website. I had a long ass interpretation typed out and when I hit submit, it told me I wasn't logged in and ate my post. When I hit my back button my post was gone. I'm never trying to post here again. Not worth the hassle.

General Comment:To me, I think this song is about a "soon-to-be couple" The person he/she is waiting for just got out of or is still in a bad relationship, and they need time to heal or just time to find what they really need.

    "Think of all the ways
    A routine malaise"
Refering to the other person in a bad situation

"just like yesterday, I told you I would stay"
Reassuring this person that you're there for them; you'll wait for him or her

    "would you always?
    maybe sometimes?
    make it easy?"
Is the guy/girl in the bad situation, making sure that
the person waiting will be there for them

    And lastly
    "take your time"
The person waiting is giving the guy/girl time to heal

It's a really beautiful song. But that's ma opinion

General Comment:She's uneasy about their relationship (malaise). He's simply reassuring her that he will remain in the relationship, a relationship that she wants to hurry. There is nothing in it (to me) that indicates a lack of love.
