Lyrics for Disappear as interpreted by L-Kyne

Disappear Lyrics
We're the last of the sleepless ones
Left behind by those we left behind tonight
Quiet now let our poison take
Were we always just your lost cause mistakes

Wait for me, will you wait for me
Need you on my side
Way for me, make way for me
With arms wide

Alone, left alone
Watch us slowly disappear with time
Unknown, still unknown
Forgotten, lost, and left behind

Dark lit streets are no place for kids
But it gives us more of a home than you ever did
We're the silentists left to our own demise
You're still our last chance to get out of this place alive

Wait for me, will you wait for me
With arms wide

Alone, left alone
Watch us slowly disappear with time
Unknown, still unknown
Forgotten, lost, and left behind

amazing song! can't wait for this new album to come out...

but this song at a glance makes me think he's (stephen or whoever the hell its about) reffering to somebody (possibly god) that ditched him and left him stranded, but in the end is his only out of whatever predicament he's in

In TWLOHA's exclusive blog which was where the lyrics to this song were first posted, Jamie said Stepehn told him that this song is about not forgetting the homeless.

This song is great. I can't wait for New Surrender.

although i love this song, it is a little sad.
and it does seem like it is about homeless people.

I don't know, i get sort of a drug involvement vibe with this song. Like what makes you sleepless and is poison? Coke! I think he's struggling with an addiction and sort of trying to justify it to everyone who is leaving him behind

I think this a great show of the focus from theri new album. A good majority of the album focuses on their charity and justice work. Stephen even wrote a good deal of it in this little cafe in New Orleans called Kahve.
This song is amazing and does not disappoint. I know their new album will dazzle. September 30th!

in response to ny1989's comment about silentist. Stephen didn't make that word up. I looked it up and from what I can gather, they seem like a religious organization. they let their actions speak for them rather than words. you're not allowed to say that you consider yourself a silentist, or speak of your choice as one. they greatly follow the motto "not words, but deeds."
I think Anberlin's reference is that these kinds of people work tirelessly to help the world. they need help, but won't blatantly ask for it.
This is just what i've gathered. Please correct me if i'm wrong

I really think that this song has to with the roles that Christians have in our society today. He's speaking as someone who is lost and left behind and needs to be saved. Whether it is seen as someone who is homeless, on drugs, or has an addiction or a problem of some sort, it seems to be a call to the way that we treat people. Rather than leaving them behind we should care more and help out those who are less fortunate and who are seeking help. You can see that in the line "You're still our last chance to get out of this place alive," its seems specifically directed to Christians.
