Who-ooh-ooh-ooh are you anyways?
I can't count how many days you weren't here.
The walls were closing in on me,
But I don't live in there no more.
There's a place in my head
That repeats what you said,
That repeats what you said that day.
You're afraid the mistakes that you made
Dug your grave but baby,
That's the price you pay.
So don't shut down
This town, ain't big enough for both of us, whoa.
And now I've found
You'll never get enough from me,
So, baby, I'm a set you free,
Yeah I'm a set you free.
[Chorus:]
Who-ooh-ooh-ooh are you anyways?
I can't count how many days you weren't here.
The walls were closing in on me,
But I don't live in there no more.
Who-ooh-ooh-ooh are you anyways?
I can't count how many days you weren't here.
The walls were closing in on me (closing in),
But I don't live in there no more.
I been trying to relate to
All the things that make you
Act the crazy ways you do (you do)
But that will take patience and headaches
To make sense
Some the things you put me through
So don't shut down
This town, ain't big enough for both of us, whoa
And now I've found
You'll never get enough from me
So, baby, I'm a set you free,
Yeah, I'm a set you free
[Chorus:]
Who-ooh-ooh-ooh are you anyways?
I can't count how many days you weren't here.
The walls were closing in on me,
But I don't live in there no more.
Who-ooh-ooh-ooh are you anyways?
I can't count how many days you weren't here.
The walls were closing in on me (closing in)
But I don't live in there no more (no more)
[Bridge: x2]
All the pictures and the windows on the wall
Are closing in on me
I thought that you're suppose to learn from
What went wrong in history.
So you keep doing everything you can
And never will get to me.
I bet you remember the day you were better
As soon as we severed
And you were free
[Chorus:]
Who-ooh-ooh-ooh are you anyways?
I can't count how many days you weren't here.
The walls were closing in on me (closing in)
But I don't live in there no more (no more)
Who-ooh-ooh-ooh are you anyways?
I can't count how many days you weren't here.
The walls were closing in on me (closing in)
But I don't live in there no more (no more)
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa [x4]
I can't count how many days you weren't here.

He gives his all, but the girlfriend doesn't give her all. I get the impression she has a acohol/sex/drug addiction: "I can't count how many days you weren't here" and "You're afraid the mistakes that you made, Dug your grave, but baby That's the price you pay."
She really doesnt treat him the way she should, and her problems end up causing him pain: "I been trying to relate to, All the things that make you, Act the crazy ways you do , but that will take patience and headaches, To make sense, Some the things you put me through"
He has a really hard time trying to actually be okay again and all the memories with her just make him want her back: "All the pictures and the windows on the wall, Are closing in on me, I thought that you're suppose to learn from, What went wrong in history."
But at the same time he realizes that he isnt what she needs: "And now I've found
You'll never get enough from me, So, baby, I'm a set you free,Yeah, I'm a set you free " and "I bet you remember the day you were better, As soon as we severed, And you were free"
It's basically a case of "if you love something enough you will set it free"
To me it sounds like a relationship between an alchoholic and his girlfriend/ He doesn't want to quit, and knows she'll eventually end up leaving him.
"go ahead and burn it down
im drunk and so is everyone else
in this devil town
they wont let me turn around
to get one last look at my baby"
I think he's saying that someone can go ahead and get screw up the relationship he's in because it's already a huge mess and he's unhappy. But at the last minute, he wants to reconsider, but everyone's already decided for him.
"go ahead and build it up again
this cities just cemetaries and forgotten,
my only hopes to see you
and even if i never do"
Now I think that this is about a different girl that he used to have a relationship or near relationship with. But he's saying that the connection they had has been forgotten a little. And he's saying that his only hope is to see this girl, because she lives so far away. But he has the hope that he'll see her one day.
"and i know what your thinkin
but that wont stop this drinking
its the least i can do
cuz this life is anything but certain
when they close the final curtain
youll get a glimpse of the truth
cuz your...
still around"
Now this is him talking to his best friend that's a girl, and she's in love with him. She wants him to metaphorically "stop drinking" and get in a relationship with someone who won't hurt him (HER!). And he's telling her that he feels lost, but that one day she'll get to see the end of the story, because she never left. <3
Haha, idk, just the way I related it to my life. :)
Also this is most likely wrong, but I read somewhere Sean Foreman has or had a daughter and the song was written about her.
it is very sad,
but it is something I would do for my boyfriend.
I never want to leave him and I would do anything for him.
This is one of the best songs they have eve made it has a lot of feeling in it.
either one :)
