Ask me I'm fine, or I will be
I gotta bullet proof vest on and the cure for aids
And a pill that makes me happy
Ask me I'm fine, or I will be
I've got the cure for loneliness and a pill that makes all my problems resolved.

I got a bullet proof vest on
and I wire tapped your brain
I want to do this right
dyno, dyn -o-mite

You should have just listened to your friends
You would have been over this by now
I thought we told each other to live in different worlds

[chorus]
Oh you should have listened to your friends, you would have been over this by now, over this by now
Oh there's only so much I can take
but I guess we'll never really find out, never really find out.

Rate me and judge me on a graph that you drew
Hope I compare to the friends that left you for dead

I guess I'm not making myself perfectly clear x2
How many times is this gonna happen

I've got to blame all these people as fast as I mother fucking can, you were fooled, this aint no fuckin day job

Oh you should have listened to your friends, you would have been over this by now, over this by now
Oh there's only so much I can take
but I guess we'll never really find out, never really find out.

Suddenly, we startle ourselves
Staring upon each other in silence
Silence
To think this whole time we're provoking each other in blinding violence

General Comment:not even gonna bother to look to see if this has already been posted, but the background vocals in the chorus are "i know it's complicated, but i still know that i can get frustrated, and snort that blow"

General Comment:His "pill for loneliness" is sex with as many people as will allow. And since they are young; often drunk; easily duped and manipulated he has PLENTY of sex. That's my interpretation of the song. If you take it personally, than that's your problem. My only problem is deciding when I am going to end this voluntary dry streak and with whom ;)

General Comment:OH MY GOD. okay. i don't care if i sound lame or stupid but listen everybody. i put this on HIGHdeas too, but last night i was really stoned and i realized something, because i came home and my mom told me to take my ZOLOFT! well i was listening to this song at the time. and then i realized how much it fucking makes sense!!!!!
this has to be like some form of sarcasm but also truth because okay so i've been on Zoloft for a while for fucking weird anti depression reasons and shit, and see the reason it's great, is cause out of everything that i have tried taking for all my shit, it's the only one that doesn't have horrible side affects at all. but the thing is: if i miss it one day, the next night i'm going crazy and screaming and like i'll end up beating the shit out of someone and totally regretting it. and it's cause the stuff works soooo well and makes you feel so good but it's almost like an illegal drug because when you're off of it you do crazy shit and you need it so it's like addicting. but i'm not saying it should be illegal because i mean it helps a lot and doesn't hurt almsot at all. but im just saying, i had a realization that these lyrics really have to do with the medication:
"Ask me I'm fine, or I will be" (it's like...it doesn't make you not depressed, it just makes you seem like it)
"I gotta bullet proof vest on and the cure for aids" (i don't know what the cure for aids is talking about but bulletproof vest "makes sense cause it's like a temporary defense kinda...like yeah it keeps me safe, but it's not natural, or even perminant)
"And a pill that makes me happy" (self explanitory)
"Ask me I'm fine, or I will be" (as above stated^)
"I've got the cure for loneliness and a pill that makes all my problems resolved." (this is really weird but a big thing with depression that i always felt was like suuuuper lonely, and ever since i've been on this shit, i haven't had much of a problem with that, which is a really big deal to me and my doctors and the ppl who are interested in how zoloft helps)

god i feel like i just found the meaning of life! even though it's just one song...haha. love dance gavin dance with all my heart <3

General Comment:I think everyone needs to learn how to spell JONNY'S name right.

And these comments are especially hilarious to read now that Jonny is back in DGD

General Comment:Its obviously about an addiction to Zoloft, which is an anti-depression drug.

"And a pill that makes me happy"
    And,
"You should have just listened to your friends
You would have been over this by now"
