Whoa-oh-oh

Come down from the mountain, you have been gone too long
The spring is upon us, follow my only song
Settle down with me by the fire of my yearning
You should come back home, back on your own now

The world is alive now, in and outside our home
You run through the forest, settle before the sun
Darling, I can barely remember you beside me
You should come back home, back on your own now

In the evening light, when the woman of the woods came by
To give to you the word of the old man
In the morning tide, when the sparrow and the seagull fly
And Johnathan and Evelyn get tired

Lie to me if you will at the top of Barringer Hill
Tell me anything you want, any old lie will do
Call me back to you

Back to you

General Comment:A coming together, a mending of what was undone. A fixing of sorts to do some fixin. It's here. .

General Comment:Lie to me if you will at the top of Barringer hill. Tell me anything you want, any old lie will do" I love this part. I think this song is about desperate love for someone who won't return it to you and has moved on. He's saying that he doesn't care what she said or did as long as she comes back to him. His pleas are not working though.

General Comment:I'm not sure if anyone has heard "the Falling Snow" by Damien Jurado, but he has a line that says "come down from your mountain, you've been gone too long." and the line is so haunting and perfect- the same goes here, for the line that uses almost the exact same words..

General Comment:If I'm not mistaken, the correct lyrics are: "Settle down with me by the fire of my yearning hearth"

General Comment:It's in the morning TIME, not tide.

Also I think Jonathan and Evelyn are probably TIED rather than tired in the morning (in the sense of tied = married)? Think that makes more sense in the context of the song.

    General Comment:Good song(:

I love to sing along to it
because well it is an easy
song to sing and I dance to it
    :D

except on the slow part I really don't.
but it is an amazing song and they
will and can keep up the amazing work. :D

General Comment:The Barringer Hill is a hill near Seattle, on the Eastside around Kirkland. That's where the band is from, and I imagine that's the hill they are singing of. It's not that important to the song meaning as a whole, but I thought it was neat when I heard it the first time.
