Boys call you sexy
And you don't care what they say
See every time you turn around
They screaming your name

Boys call you sexy
And you don't care what they say
See every time you turn around
They screaming your name

Now I've got a confession
When I was young I wanted attention
And I promised myself that I'd do anything
Anything at all for them to notice me

But I ain't complaining
We all wanna be famous
So go ahead and say what you wanna say

You don't know what its like to be nameless
Want them to know what your name is
'Cause see when I was younger I would say

When I grow up
I wanna be famous
I wanna be a star
I wanna be in movies

When I grow up
I wanna see the world
Drive nice cars
I wanna have groupies

When I grow up
Be on TV
People know me
Be on magazines

When I grow up
Fresh and clean
Number one chick
When I step out on the scene

Be careful what you wish for
Cuz you just might get it
You just might get it
You just might get it

Be careful what you wish for
'Cause you just might get it
You just might get it
You just might get it

They used to tell me I was silly
Until I popped up on the TV
I always wanted to be a superstar
And knew that singing songs would get me this far

But I ain't complaining
We all wanna be famous
So go ahead and say what you wanna say

You don't know what its like to be nameless
Want them to know what your name is
'Cause see when I was younger I would say

When I grow up
I wanna be famous
I wanna be a star
I wanna be in movies

When I grow up
I wanna see the world
Drive nice cars
I wanna have groupies

When I grow up
Be on TV
People know me
Be on magazines

When I grow up
Fresh and clean
Number one chick
When I step out on the scene

Be careful what you wish for
'Cause you just might get it
You just might get it
You just might get it

Be careful what you wish for
'Cause you just might get it
You just might get it
You just might get it

I see them staring at me
Ooh I'm a trendsetter
Yes this is true 'cause what I do
No one can do it better

You can talk about me
'Cause I'm a hot topic
I see you watching me watching me
And I know you want it, oh

When I grow up
I wanna be famous
I wanna be a star
I wanna be in movies

When I grow up
I wanna see the world
Drive nice cars
I wanna have groupies

When I grow up
Be on TV
People know me
Be on magazines

When I grow up
Fresh and clean
Number one chick
When I step out on the scene

Be careful what you wish for
'Cause you just might get it
You just might get it
You just might get it

Be careful what you wish for
'Cause you just might get it
You just might get it
You just might get it

When I grow up
I wanna be famous
I wanna be a star
I wanna be in movies

When I grow up
I wanna see the world
Drive nice cars
I wanna have groupies

When I grow up
Be on TV
People know me
Be on magazines

When I grow up
Fresh and clean
Number one chick
When I step out on the scene

Be careful what you wish for
'Cause you just might get it
You just might get it
You just might get it

Be careful what you wish for
'Cause you just might get it
You just might get it
You just might get it

General Comment:I have embarrassingly always liked this song since I first started working out to it. It's the perfect gym song and I will enjoy it later on this morning while I sweat off the pounds. Obviously the song is about wanting more...fame and fortune when one is older. (Someone needs to raise the bar a little higher:) Love the energy of this song even if the lyrics do suck.

General Comment:I really love it how all these people are waiting their time trash talking celebrities when the celebrities are out there making their annual salary in a week.

General Comment:The song is obviously an anthem for anyone who has/wants to become famous and be on top of the world.
Basically saying that it can happen if you try to make it happen and at the same time It's a big 'f*** you' to everyone who ever doubted you on the way to the top. (" Use to tell me I was silly, till I pop'd up on the tv")

People seem to have a problem with ANYTHING the Pussycat Dolls do. I have no clue why, but whatever... They are off selling records, filling stadiums etc. and the haters are hiding behind there computer screens spewing the hate. :p

General Comment:Oh, and anyone who calls them untalented sluts it's obvious that they're so uptight (and probably annoyed that 'boys DON'T call them sexy' And I bet they can't sing as good as Nicole.
So what if a women wants to use her body and dance suggestively? It's hers to use in whatever way she wants.

General Comment:I do love this song :)
I'm usually a gangsta rap and thrash metal fan, but you gotta love the Pussycat Dolls. They're fun, sexy and blunt with their lyrics. I love that they can release a song about wanting be a movie star and in magazines, even though there is gonna be a backlash of people saying 'NOOO! YOU'RE SENDING OUT A BAD MESSAGE. YOU SHOULD WANT TO BE A DOCTOR!'

General Comment:not bad. i guess this song is about what every little girl wants these days. too much hannah montana and jonas brothers; not enough anime and mario bros.
