Can you lie next to her
And give her your heart, your heart
As well as your body
And can you lie next to her
And confess your love, your love
As well as your folly
And can you kneel before the king
And say I'm clean, I'm clean

Tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Oh tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart

A white blank page and a swelling rage, rage
You did not think when you sent me to the brink, to the brink
You desired my attention but denied my affections, my affections

Tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Oh tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart

Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life
Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life

    My Interpretation

Listening to this song I think it's about an unequal relationship. Based on the beginning of the song I feel like maybe one of the two people involved might be unavailable physically (and entirely) emotionally because they are involved with someone else. However, they could have just built up a wall for other reasons.

It seems like the narrator is in love with the object of his affection and is completely available to her (or him) to support them and love them, and the other person took and took and then left him alone, destroyed, and desperate for his love, wondering what he did wrong. I'd argue he didn't necessarily do anything wrong, but when someone deserts you that you cared for so deeply, even if it's illogical, you feel like you must have done something, otherwise, why would they abandon you.
