Can you lie next to her
And give her your heart, your heart
As well as your body
And can you lie next to her
And confess your love, your love
As well as your folly
And can you kneel before the king
And say I'm clean, I'm clean
Tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Oh tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
A white blank page and a swelling rage, rage
You did not think when you sent me to the brink, to the brink
You desired my attention but denied my affections, my affections
Tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Oh tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life
Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life
And give her your heart, your heart
As well as your body
And can you lie next to her
And confess your love, your love
As well as your folly
And can you kneel before the king
And say I'm clean, I'm clean
Tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Oh tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
A white blank page and a swelling rage, rage
You did not think when you sent me to the brink, to the brink
You desired my attention but denied my affections, my affections
Tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Oh tell me now, where was my fault
In loving you with my whole heart
Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life
Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life

This song makes me think of Wuthering Heights - Catherine and Heathcliffs relationship.
Isn't Heathcluff a dog? Seriously. I thought he was a cartoon character. (I obviously know nothing about literature/movies?). No woman denies the affections of a man she loves, but normally men and women are actually IN each other's lives;)
AH HA!!!! Healthcliff was both a cartoon and a TV series!!! I'm not so dumb afterall:)
But he was a cat. So yes, yes you are.
He was NOT a cat. Was he? I hate you because you know that now I shall have to research this...
OMG he WAS a cat. I was thinkin' about Clifford the big red doggy.
Used to watch the show. Yes, he was an orange cat.
Grrr.
I have an excuse; I was in college when the series began...drinking...eating pizza...not studying, etc.
I had to look that up, too. GRR means: "Something someone says when they want appear aggressive or intimidating (in a positive or negative way) but has the opposite effect, inducing laughter..." That's according to the Urban Dictionary...and it has NOTHING to do with Tony the Tiger:)
Wow, that's a great comparison, Rileyroo. Now that you've mentioned it, I see the similarities as well. Shame that all the replies are about a stupid cartoon. Sounds like people need a refresher course in literary classics. :)
Just wanted to note, Mumford & Sons actually did a song specifically about Wuthering Heights (made for the Wuthering Heights movie specifically) called 'The Enemy'. One of my favorite songs of theirs.
