    My Interpretation:This song is so amazing!! I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. I interpret it a little differently than others. The song reminds me of God how I was so alone and I was tired of everyone how they were treated me or used me and then I went to a beach maybe not in california but it was on the east coast, and it was night time I sat down in the sand with my guitar and I heard the waves rashing, and I felt God reach out to me asking me to come to him, and I knew there was more than what was going on in my life. THere was him.

    General Comment:this is the first chase coy song I ever heard and I am seriously in love with his voice XD yeah anyways I know the feeling of wanting to get away to be with someone special... my boyfriend lives over 400 miles away from me and to say I have family problems would be an understatment!!! chase coy's songs help me know that loads of people just want to get away from where they are or what they are going though! maybe he just has good memories in Cali!!!     General Comment:@ktrox, I think Chase is referring to california metaphorically. Since california is the place where stars are born, where movies are made, where the land ends and the ocean begins, he is saying is a place of hope for him. Not that he's referring to California exactly, but the fact that such good things are said about California (aka. his new home, fresh start) that he just wants to be there. So,I guess long story short, California=Utopia for him.


    Anyways, This song is amazing. I think it is about how he is sick and tired of the places and faces he has come to grown with and he just wants to see something new, maybe something better.

    General Comment:I think maybe this song could be like part 2 of summer's song. Mostly cuz of the part about the girl waiting in California. Maybe the girl from summer's song lives in California and he wants to go there to be with her. This could be way off, but it's just a thought.

    Song Meaning:this song is talking about how he is tired of the way his life is right now and he just wants a fresh start in a fresh year. he is desperately hoping that the next year will be better and he will find the perfect girl in california.

    what i think is kind of sad is that the majority of chase's songs are about how he longs to be in california. but i live here and it really isnt this magical place he sings about. he has this fantastic, unrealistic view of cali, and im afraid if he actually believes what he sings about that cali will be a huge let down.

    but anyways, i love chase just the same and i love all of his songs :)
