Lyrics for Pages as interpreted by CanonJoe

Pages Lyrics
What happens to a man when
He spills his heart on a page and
He watches words flow away then
His feelings lie on the page alone
There waiting
For someone who cares to read them
To open their eyes to see them
To see if they can make his thoughts their own
To find out that maybe your life's not perfect
Maybe it's not worth what he gives away

You can see that this broken soul is bleeding
So you can see your feelings inside yourself
And wander through my heart
Letting you see through me
Now only consumes me
Forget your pain, watch me fall apart

What happens to a soul when
It's trapped inside his emotions
And all of these words he's spoken
They bind him to the life he's left behind
And every new step he takes
He knows that he might not make it
To all of these dreams that he has yet to find

Maybe your life's not perfect
But maybe it's not worth what he gives away
You can see that this broken soul is bleeding
So you can see your feelings inside yourself
And wander through my heart
Letting you see through me
Now only consumes me
Forget your pain and watch me fall apart

You can see that this broken soul is bleeding
So you can see your feelings inside yourself
And wander through my heart
Letting you see through me
Now only consumes me
Forget your pain and watch me fall apart
As I fall apart

Another unbelievable song. Too me this song reflects a man's struggle in life and results in him writing a suicide note right before he kills himself. Such a moving and powerful song. So many people can relate to this, he goes through such a journey right before he ends it all. It seems as if everybody is just watching a self-destruction of a broken soul and he is pleading with them to help his needs but in the end its over

Wow this might be my new favorite 3DD song, the lyrics and music are so perfect together that you feel for what this person is going thru. I agree with Pyar that its about a suicide note but it seems to be from the perscpetive of a bystander wondering about the thoughts of a suicidal person.

i see this song as a perspective point from the singer/writer... all of his thoughts and words get put onto paper, made into a song for others to listen and relate to... many personal emotions and situations have been written about, and people have a tendency to use them in their own life, instead of seeing the pain the writer has experienced

Yeh i definately agree with tootz but to me, it sounds like what once used to soothe the writer now only tears him up more.. He used to find solace in opening himself to others but not anymore (letting you see through me, now only consumes me).. Theres a sense of resentment and hopelessness in his voice...

To me, this song is about a man who is starting to realize that he's not happy, despite all that he has given up. It seems like he tries so hard to achieve what he was looking for, but in the end, he realized that it wasn't worth it:. "To find out that maybe your life's not perfect
Maybe it's not worth what he gives away" He writes his pains down, hoping that someone would read it to see what he has gone through.

He is also telling others that no matter how bad you may think life is, there is always someone who has it worse, so appreciate what you do have.
