Do the twist in the twisting outfit
The loose tie with, the loose limp wrists
Lift your dress enough to show me those shins
Let your hair stick to your forehead
(Aah, aah, aah)
Did you blush then, when our hips touched?
I can't tell, we are already red
Am I right? Will you give me the signs
Is that pink mist or just lit dry ice?
(Aah, aah, aah)

You twist and whisper the wrong name
I don't care and nor do my ears (Aah)
Twist yourself around me
I need company, I need human heat
I need human heat
(Aah, aah, aah aah, aah, aah)

Lets pretend I'm attractive and then
You won't mind, you can twist for a while
It's the night, I can be who you like
And I'll quietly leave before it gets light

So, twist and whisper the wrong name
I don't care and nor do my ears (Aah)
Twist yourself around me
I need company, I need human heat
I need human heat

I need human heat
(Extra super very, ha ha extra super very, ha ha extra super very, ha ha extra super very)
I need human heat
I need human heat
I need

Twist and whisper the right name
I'm Dave, if you please
The twist is that you're just like me
You need company, you need human heat
You need human heat

I think towards the end it saids "The twist is that your just like me". At least that's how I hear it, and it seems quite funny that way... In the sense of using the same word in a rhyme but for a different meaning. Good one palz. I love the harmonies in this song, and the wee ben foldsy breakdown with the "extrasupervery...". Aye like.

    great song, prty straight forward

what im curious about is why he says 'im david' is this a reference to anything, none of the band members are named david.

At the begining of the song it's showing his excitement about getting attention and feeling close to someone. He doesn't care that she doesn't know his name- he just wants to feel close to someone. During the end of the song he pleads 'whisper the right name'. He's starting to realise that the the warmth he felt earlier is dying as they just become two strangers again. He longs for the closeness to carry on. 'Keep yourself warm seems to carry on from this. He has realised that as soon as these meaningless 'fucks' are over, you go back to being just as lonely as you were before. Everyone who has had a one night stand will probably know the feeling.

of course josh schwartz would throw frightened rabbit into the premiere of the second season of his prime time show chuck. as the oc soundtracks proved, that guy has an ear for amazing music. this is not an exception. amazing song on an overpoweringly amazing album. seriously, one of the strongest albums from start to finish i've heard in a long time.

is it just me or is this song all about sex, and how he just wants to feel something even if it's just for one night. Even if she wishes it was someone else. He's really lonely and just needs to be close to someone.

The lyric at the end is actually 'I'm Dave, if you please' according to Scott.

I still don't understand it though.

Okay, it really bothers me because it seems that people aren't getting what seems to be pretty clear from it. Everyone has been dancing around it, but has some different take. In my opinion is that this song coincides well with Keep Yourself Warm, not contradicting it. He starts out just craving the attention of sleeping with someone, as is seen in the first few verses, but then he realizes quickly that it is not enough, which ties in with the changes in lyrics of the last chorus. First he says whisper the right name, and then says I'm dave, if you please. I believe that Dave is the actual name of the character in the song. The 'if you please' is just like saying "if you will". He's just asking nicely that she call him by his real name. And then "the twist is that you're just like me" is a great word play that is saying that in reality she wants more than just casual sex too but it seems that it is alluding both of them. Well that's my take, but it seems to fit.

it's about loneliness and just having that human heat makes it all better even if it doesn't mean anything. even if she calls you by someone else's name.

"The twist is that you're just like me" gives the song a more hopeful feel, but I don't think that's supposed to be the point. I'm pretty sure "Twist as if you're just like me" is right - the song is all about the intense longing for companionship, yearning for someone who doesn't want you, but might be willing to pretend to for a while.

Personally, I like the idea that it might be "The twist is that you're just like me." It's still kind of a sad song, but in a different way. It's sort of double unrequited love/desire. Both the uy and the girl want to be loved, but not necessarily by each other. However, they are together at the moment, so why not "twist" for a while. And, the use of a alternative meaning of the word "twist" is neat, too.

I still think the lyric is correct as written above, though it is tough to make out when listening.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
