good night
it's stroke-time
let's get paralysed down both sides
snake hips, red city kiss
and your black eyes roll back
midnight organ fight
yours gives into mine
it's all right
and the fast blood
hurricanes through me
and then it rips my roof away with her fire heads
this is the longest kiss
good night

oh--

and now I, I tremble,
because this fumble
has become biblical
I feel like I just died twice
was reborn again
for all our dirty sins
and the fast blood, fast blood, fast blood
hurricanes through me
and then it rips my roof away with her fire heads
this is the longest kiss
good night
good night
and then I fall down
I stumble
and she said, good night

General Comment:k i'm not scottish but I hear "snake heads, a red slitty kiss," "with a fire-hiss, this is the longest kiss," and also "bumble" rather than "fumble."

i adore this band for their frankness. when I first heard head rolls off three years ago i was hooked, and they've been in my top 5 favourite bands ever since.

General Comment:Straight from the source, you wankers:

"The title has a couple of possible meanings, but the main one is a euphemism for sex, as it’s in the song Fast Blood, which is essentially about fucking... I didn't realise i was so drawn to physical and biological imagery until I put the whole record together. I feel like heartache is very physically painful, in lots of ways, so it seems natural to gravitate that way."

General Comment:This is probably my all time favourite song by one of my all time favourite bands. The one thing I love about Frightened Rabbit lyrics is the pure honesty. Songs like 'Keep Yourself Warm' and 'Twist' are written from the heart and I defy any man not to identify with them. This also makes Fast Blood a bit of a tricky one to make out. Is this just about a kiss or is it about sex? Which organs are fighting - is it the heart or the genitals? This song really can be read two ways. Maybe I'm a bit of a romamntic but I think it's about a first kiss goodnight and the emotions and adrenaline (fast blood?) that happen when you first kiss someone you really like. Then again if you've just listened to 'Keep Yourself Warm' maybe this song is purely about having sex. I hope not though as that would ruin it for me!

    General Comment:"good night
    it's stroke-time
    let's get paralysed"

    Triple entendre here;

    1. masturbation before going to sleep
    2. stunning kiss at the stroke of midnight
    3. drunkeness

General Comment:Who agrees that "fire heads" is neither that, nor "fire hiss," but "fire HANDS"....?
    I'm sure it is.

General Comment:could this be someone constantly getting drunk and kissing people, having sex whatever...but this one tim means something, therefore lasting longer than anything else?

General Comment:'Midnight Organ Fight' is a euphanism for sexual intercourse; obviously the song is about sex.
Personally, I agree with ninacrux, I think that the song is about having sex with an ex-girlfriend, enjoying it at the time and regretting it afterwards.

    General Comment:
lets get paralysed, this fumble - references to drunkeness
midnight organ fight, yours gives into mine - sex organs anyone
agree with the "la petit mort" reference
also i think it's "with a fire hiss" rather than fire head, just cos he's scottish don't mean he's banging rangers
