It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war
Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war
Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye

But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye

The rest of the song is about how, as in this world, the wheel turns in Narnia; there's a time for peace and a time for war. It's also about getting in and out of Narnia, about how there's never just one way to get there and how there's never any guarantee of going back the same way--when or if you're ever going back.
Idk
I've been re-reading the books and I remembered this song :)
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
For me, the first lyric speaks of what is, was and every shall be. It speaks of creation. It speaks of the power of our thoughts and words to manifest.
The last lyric speaks of us now, in these hours of our awakening. Our realization of the deep truth, of searching for it within ourselves and not trying to validate our deep memories through others. A reminder to go inward, focus and manifest those memories till they are before us. The memory within our hearts, minds and spirits that we are all one.
It took me about 12 days, to understand what it meant to me.
This is about a person (boy/ girl) waiting for his/her priority one to come back out of something (which was denoted as battle)...then it also assures when the priority one will be coming back when it’s over. And the person will be coming back WHEN (if ever in lifetime) s/he will be called back.
This song also talks about facing the fear/want/love (Battle reasons) etc. that are in the past memories and face them and to make it grow so strong, that they won't haunt or they will make cherish it even more, and only then the battle can be won....well that's what I think of this song and that’s what this song means in my life.

Or maybe I'm just imposing my own life on it and praying that the singer's right. :/
"Balancing 'A' (which can be home/love/peace) with 'B' (which can be responsibility/war/struggle)."
"And then that word grew louder and louder
Until it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye"
The person feels deeply inside that they must go somewhere/do something ('B'), which takes them away from 'A'.
"Now we're back to the beginning"
The person reaches 'A' again, so they're back home, or with their loved one, or however you want to interpret it.
"Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
Until they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye"
These lines are saying that the person will repeat the journey they just took ('B'). The memories of 'B' will grow inside them and soon enough, they will be gone again, meaning they won't stay at 'A' forever.
The first few lines describe a child growing inside the womb:
the "feeling" of intimacy
the "hope" of new life
the "thought" grows into a "word" (or name)
The name growing louder into a battle cry works for both the birth cries or as metaphor for the young innocence growing into the passion of adolescents/young adulthood
The second set of verses is about aging, maturity and going to the grave:
"every things changing" alludes to the aging process while the second half of that line alludes to reincarnation or at least the ongoing circle of life
the rest of that verse is just about bucking up and facing the trials of life while valuing the rewards
following a star on the horizon can be seen as finding your life purpose early on (your calling) and living it too the fullest until you reach your end
The musical interlude is long and beautiful and provides great head space to envision the interlude between the end of one life and the beginning of the next
The final set of verses are about birth again, re-birth, or the continuation of the circle of living. Back to the state of being only a feeling or naive child while urging yourself to remember the love and purpose you left behind in your previous life.
Through-out the song the line "you'll come back; when it's over/when they call you" is a reminder not to fear aging and death or long too much for the safety of childhood or even to mourn those you've lost in life.
It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
i think these lyrics describe the start of a revolution, where the people of what ever country start off being quiet about their wants and needs, their desires for freedom or a new leader. but things as they usually do dont stay quiet as long as multitudes of people become aware of it.
the next set of lyrics tell of the rebellion become more of a battle/war for freedom and what not.
And then that word grew louder and louder
Until it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
the chorus describes "everything changing" and that just because it is that doesn't mean its never happened before like an uprising that has occured before in the past.
Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
Until they're before your eyes
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say goodbye
these lyrics just descibe the battle being over and everyone going back to normal.
