This song is obviously about the Iraq war. The "All I want in this world" line speaks to that notion. The spell rebel yell part I believe means a soldier that is caught in something he can't control = A spell, but is dying to get out some how some way = A rebel yell......I don't if that makes sense to anyone

The mixing on this song is quite poor. It is very hard to hear Chris's vocals for the majority of the verses.

Kozworth-the version I heard from limewire seems very poor quality, so perhaps they'll clean it up if it's on the album. Even so, I didn't like the song :( it was bland, with an overdone message, if it really is about Iraq...I really hope that Viva la Vida's song aren't all political statements. Where are the calming, exhilarating love songs :(?

his voice is still low but the music is completely clear
makes the song 100% better in my opinion. it's beautiful.

I think the mixing is perfect. Pushing the vocals to the back gives it a much more experimental feel.

Okay, I really feel the need to say this. Why is it that everyone assumes that this *must* be about the Iraq war? Just because it gives implications about being about a war doesn't necessarily mean it is referencing to the Iraq war! Your shallow, self-centred American minds really don't understand that there are literally dozens of other wars in the world. I think it is giving a political message about war - but not one particular one. Just the horrible thing that is war in general.

Splishee, you're a b*tch to over generalize the American population like that. Of course there's more war going on, and we know that, but this is how these people-AMERICAN's-relate since that where our citizens are atm (there, and Afghanistan). Not to mention that i'm pretty sure Coldplay had been vocal against the Iraq war, so while I believe it does target war & deployments and such in general, i'm sure they had it in mind, being as it's one of the most controversial conflicts that are going on right now in the world.

I'm sorry to be a little harsh, but I am so so so sick of people calling us shallow, self-centered, etc...its just f*ckin' rude. By saying those things, you're no better than those you intend to insult.
