Lyrics for The Time Has Come Again as interpreted by indiebopper

The Time Has Come Again Lyrics
The time has come again
Slowly walking down the steps
To where she would have been
If only they were seventeen

Waiting patiently
And stood between a fraying seam
Hiding from himself
As well as everybody else

Without permission
His face became wet
He thought he'd learnt how to not get upset
From folded notes in envelopes
Meet me beneath the moon, don't go too soon
She went too soon.

The time has come again
And slowly walking down the steps,
To where she would have been
If only they were seventeen.

I think that this song is intertwined with "the meeting place"
towards the end of meeting place it says "they knew the time would come" and I think that this is what is happening at that moment. "meet me beneath the moon" and " folded notes in envelopes" are both probably part of the meeting place song. Just a theory but it sounds pretty good.
Great song to end on

I actually think it's about Death. I think it's about two elderly lovers and that the women "went too soon", meaning she passed away. just a theory though. great, great song.

huh? this is a beautiful "its over" love song. for whatever reason...the age is irrelevant - it just represents that time, when you were free to be with each other, that time when you were in love with each other. when she loved you too perhaps...its describing their place, and how he must have felt when they met beneath the moon - watching her approach and how empty it feels now, to be in that same place, where she will never be again. its one of the most beautiful love poems ever and i use it with my incarcerated students because they can relate - especially to folded notes in envelopes...way to go. cant someone download it already so i can add it to my myspace??

I agree w/ seeshaw222. My first reaction upon both listening to the song and reading the lyrics was that it definitely sounds like a second part to the meeting place. Certainly the same concept and subject matter was used that really helps the music flow between both songs when you're listening to it.

this song makes me sad.
it makes want to go hug an old person.

but that's not my point; i'm guessing it's about an elderly couple
and one of the spouses dies, and then one of them is rembering the "fun times" they had.
