Life is easier when one of us is dead
Hey
I will wait a year
No one starts to hear an accidental fall
And they won't suspect a thing at all

Wait for the summer
We'll sleep when we wanna
Don't tell your mother
We'll leave when we
We'll leave when we wanna

And I have dreamed about it
Now I read about it
And I can't grieve about it
And I can't hey

Someone help me
Someone help me
Someone help me please
Someone help me
Someone help me
Someone help me please

It's an accidental fall
And they won't suspect a thing at all

Wait for the summer
We'll leave when we wanna
Look at your mother
Is that who ya
Is that who ya wanna?

Tell my lady here what I was drinking
And in not too long, won't she start screaming?
What a proud old man, what was she thinking?
I hear her voice sometimes, when I've been dreaming

Tell my lady here what I was dreaming
And in not too long, what was I thinking?
What a proud old man, won't she start screaming?
I hear voice sometimes, when I've been'
When I've been drinking

Rising rising falling down
I'm rising rising falling down
I'm rising rising falling down
I'm rising rising falling down

I killed my baby with a bullet,
One last shot right into her head
And I'm falling falling falling down

Sink into the river!
Sink into the river!

Tell my lady here what I was drinking
I killed my baby with a bullet,
One last shot right into her head
And I'm falling falling falling down

Sink into the river!
Sink into the river!

I hear her voice sometimes
When I've been
When I've been drinking

Rising rising falling down
I'm rising rising falling down
I'm rising rising falling down
I'm rising rising falling down

General Comment:Watching the live version, I'm pretty sure they're saying

I killed my baby with a bullet
Words that shot right into her head

    Take a listen here: youtube.com/…

So this actually does make sense to think about the song as about suicide. This guy drove a girl to kill herself by what he said to her, maybe some argument that pushed her over the edge (Maybe literally - "sink into the river" - jumping off a bridge). And the argument probably culminated with "Life is easier when one of us is dead."

"We'll leave when we wanna" - choosing when to die - suicide.

So to sum it up, I think it's about a woman who commits suicide because of an argument, and a man who's planning on killing himself because of the guilt.

General Comment:I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this song isn't about murder, but suicide

first of all, she won't stop screaming because he hears her voice in his head (change the lyric?).

Now they mention in the song that he killed his lady when he was dreaming. To me, the person is extremely wrought over his relationship with the lady for some reason (cheating maybe) and is worried that he is going to kill her. Worried because he dreamt it and is losing control of himself (rising rising falling down). He's sinking into the riverbed because he's falling into death, suicide.

i hear 'i killed my baby with a bullet', not kissed in the live versions
and its 'held her neck too long, won't she stop screaming'
and finally, 'what a proud old man, what was she thinking?'
---that last one could be the man she cheated with

and finally, he's waiting for the summer to kill himself, but is feeling bad about his mother's reaction to it

let me know what you think!!

General Comment:first off the Current 98 live recording of this is phenomenal... saw the band live at Bonnaroo and fell in love.

the lyric is killed not kiss... there live renditions of this song really make the lyrics easy to make out.

Here is the Current 98 live video-

General Comment:somebody wrote on youtube "it must be embarassing to play after these guys"...which is total truth :D
I agree with the out-of-body-some-kind-of-religious experience ...exactly how I feel when I put this in my ipod and walk in the streets

for me, lyrics in this song are secondary (murder, wtf??)
