You change your mind
Like a girl changes clothes
Yeah you, PMS
Like a bitch
I would know
And you over think
Always speak
Cryptically

I should know
That you're no good for me

'Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up
(You) you don't really want to stay, no
(You) but you don't really want to go
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down

We used to be
Just like twins
So in sync
The same energy
Now's a dead battery
Used to laugh 'bout nothing
Now you're plain boring

I should know
That you're not gonna change

'Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up
(You) you don't really want to stay, no
(You) but you don't really want to go
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down

Someone call the doctor
Got a case of a love bipolar
Stuck on a roller coaster
Can't get off this ride

You change your mind
Like a girl changes clothes

'Cause you're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up

You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down
You're wrong when it's right
It's black and it's white
We fight, we break up
We kiss, we make up
(You) you don't really want to stay, no
(You) but you don't really want to go
You're hot then you're cold
You're yes then you're no
You're in then you're out
You're up then you're down

I believe this song is about a guy who keeps saying he wants to be with her, but then decides he doesn't, and so on. Hence the line "Got a case of the love bipolar" and she continues to go back to him everytime he says he wants her back, no matter how much the breaking up happens. Such as the lines "Stuck on a rollercoaster,Can't get off this ride" and "We fight, we break up, We kiss, we make up"

I honestly don't think it's about someone who is literally bi-Polar.

I think it's more like, you can never tell from one day to the next whether they'll be in love/together (hot) or at war/apart (cold).

as in, they have no clue whatsoever whether they wanna be together or not. they can't stay in the relationship long enough to figure out if they're a good coupel or not.

i love katy perry! this song is just so much fun it's a get-up-and-dance song! :] its pretty obvious that it's about knowing you should end your relationship, but steel feeling attatched. And you can't seem to bring closure to it because you still have feelings for the person, but the relationship isn't what it once was. One of her best!

this song is so relatable! seriously!! it's being with a guy who wants you one second, then the next he doesnt. He ignores you, then he talks to you. He can't make up his mind you know? He has commitment problems. I love this song!!!

This explains my ex perfectly. He was always one extreme or the other, on a rollercoaster, even now after we broke up, he alternates between missing me and feeling like he meant nothing to me...i understand her frustration perfectly

Oh my.... this song explains exactly my feelings in my relationship with this girl. I just dont know what to do. We are together for a one month, and she is the initiator of our relationship... ...yeah, just like this: "(You) You don't really wanna stay, no (You) But you don't really wanna go..."

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
