Yeah
I love Mary (I love Mary)
Blind Mary marry me (Marry me)
I love Mary (I love)

She has never seen the sunshine (sunshine)
Yet she's getting along just fine (fine)
She's not staying she's just passing through (Ooh ooh)
Hey, do you mind if I follow you?
You

I love Mary (I love Mary)
Blind Mary marry me (Marry me)
I love Mary (I love)
Yeah

I heard a voice say "catch me if you can"
Before you know it I was holding her hand
It's harder to imagine then understand
How she knows exactly who I am
Yeah

I love Mary (I love Mary)
Blind Mary marry me (Marry me)
I love Mary (I love)
Yeah

She's my friend she doesn't judge me
She has no idea I'm ugly
So I've absolutely nothing to hide
Because I'm so much prettier inside
Yeah

I love Mary (I love Mary)
Blind Mary marry me (Marry me)
I love Mary (I love)
Blind Mary marry me (Marry me)

General Comment:Assumin it's about love, I wonder what he means by her just passin through...? The instrumental is awesome too.. I like the idea that it's about unconditional love, and learnin we're equal, like both are disabilities: blindness, and ugliness.

General Comment:This song is about the first girl Cee Lo ever met that didn't judge him for his outer appearance

She has no idea I'm ugly.
So I have absolutely nothing to hide,
because I'm so much prettier inside.

He's asking to Marry her because he believes that he'll never find another girl like her.

General Comment:Just because you smoke weed doesn't mean you'll write a song about it. Considering the usual deepness of his songs AND HIS OWN EXPLINATION OF THE SONG, it is unlikely that is true.

General Comment:This was coined by Shakespeare and was quite a favourite line of his. It appears in several of his plays, including Two Gentlemen of Verona, Henry V and The Merchant Of Venice. For example, this piece from The Merchant Of Venice, 1596:

JESSICA: Here, catch this casket; it is worth the pains.
I am glad 'tis night, you do not look on me,
For I am much ashamed of my exchange:
But love is blind and lovers cannot see
    The pretty follies that themselves commit;
For if they could, Cupid himself would blush
To see me thus transformed to a boy.

General Comment:i think the song has double meaning.... i think its weed and its a love song like hes saying shes blind and she doesnt judge him and thats why he loves her.... but alot of his comparisons are close to weed the whole sun thing could be him talking bout hydro lol grown in-doors with no sunlight.... yet it "gets along just fine" lol either way i love the song! but it will always be a weed song

General Comment:Oh my god, you guys need to chill out.

If people think the song is about weed, let them think it's about weed. If people think the song is about love, let them think it's about love.

It's wasting your time to argue about what a song means. Especially over the internet. Jesus.

Anywizzle, this song is amazing and while I do think he's talking about love, I can see where others would think it's about weed.

General Comment:lol the song is clearly about love... she isnt really blind, but she doesnt see the bs material side of ish. She is into him regardless of how "ugly" he is or what not she doesnt see that, she is only intrested in the real him...

General Comment:does anyone have a logical explanation for thinking the songs about weed aside from the use of the name mary?

General Comment:I think the guys who say this song is about weed is right.

As someone said already the line where he says "she has never seen the sunshine" and also what I think Mary could be short for "Marijuana"
