Beams of fire sweep through my head
Thrusts of pain increasingly engaged
Sensory receptors succumb
I'm no one now, only agony

My crimson liquid so frantically spilled
The ruby fluid of life unleashed

Ripples ascend to the surface of my eyes
Their red pens drawing at random, at will
A myriad pains begotten in their wake
The bastard spawn of a mutinous self

The regurgitation of my micro nemesis
Salivating red at the prospect of my ruin, my doom

Malfunction the means for its ascent
Bloodletting the stringent voice to beckon my soul
So futile, any resisting tension
As death-induced mechanics propel its growth

The implement, the device of my extinction
The terminating clockwork of my gleeful bane
The definitive scourge of its mockery
The end-art instruments, lethality attained

Heed, it commands, heed my will
Bleed, it says, bleed you will

Falling into the clarity of undoing
Scornful gods haggle for my soul
Minds eye flickers and vellicates as I let go
Taunting whispers accompany my deletion

A sneering grin, the voice of my reaper
Chanting softly the song of depletion

General Comment:I think that this song (or this album) is fucking epic! This band is very original, they think a lot for their song. The drummer has done a perfect work with the rythms and he has great coordination. The band in general thinks a lot about the time (I don't know if you say so, I mean like 4/4, or 3/4) of the songs, and they create a sense of confusion at first, but after some time you feel at peace with yourself, or you would only smash everything. Fucking awesome album, I must say. It's one of the few things that are epic, in every sense

General Comment:It's obviously mainly about an aneurysm, as quoted by Tomas Haake, but he also said it's used metaphorically. So what I got out of it is pretty much the song is about giving into what society suspects of you, aka it kills you like an aneurysm would.

General Comment:I think its about how you have to master your own destiny or external forces will lead you to an early grave, (in the music video, his initial "curiosity" turned into full blown depravity with the dog collar - check it out if you havent seen it) - the "Satanic" style "God" figure smirks, "haggles for his soul"

Really poetic beautiful lyrics, the music itself is just a force of nature, really special song by the far+away best metal band in existence

    Song Meaning:After watching the music video, i'd say this song is about the concept of death by time. Warning : The explanation i'm about to give is a little long...so ;

The white bald man in the end of the video (also in the album cover) is god.
the lady holding the string represents time
and the black, red eyed one is death or grim reaper
the egyptian skeleton is immortality and the heart is the key to it
the black and white facepainted guy in chains represents a dead person.

So the guy starts somewhere he doesn't know, as in life we born randomly, watching the dead guy (b&w facepainted guy) makes him think the he will die someday too so he wants immortality (egyptian skeleton).
while he tries to achieve it, you can see the "god" is smiling like "you can't have immortality", so by trying to achieve immortality he betrays time and god, so the lady (time) holds his lifeline (the string in hand) while the grim reaper watches and waits the right time to do it. as she cuts the string, grim reaper captures the guy, put him in chains (that he can't escape death) to make him face with god (somewhere between life and death).
When he faces god, he rages and rebels him. After god looks at him, we understand that he can't rebel god. As god takes his life, he starts to transform into a b&w facepainted guy (so he dies) and god puts him among him as he is now dead and reaches the Zen/peace as you see the music suddenly slows down and comes at peace.

General Comment:Sometimes bands give more than one meaning to a song. I really think this one has to do with the power to choose what you want, not what your hypothalmus wants. We have the power to choose, to be the observer and decide which thought stays and which one goes. You can feed the bad one, or wait long enough and tame it.

    General Comment:Zen - ultimate peace
ob- prefix; preventing, e.g. obstruct, obstacle

The whole album is 'Something that gets in the way of peace'

General Comment:A long and visual description on the protagonists physical death, told as if though he was killed by something supreme and powerful, the evil entity, the man on the cover (or however you choose to percieve it).

This is what all the pathetic death metal bands try to do, but done right.

My Opinion:I registered just so I could say that I love this song, real metal at its fucking best. I just wish there was more music like this and less unoriginal, bland -core garbage. If a scene kid heard this they'd probably piss their Hello Kitty-covered panties.

Song Meaning:here's an interview on the subject with the band's drummer:
    faceculture.tv/…

so it's an aneurysm, didn't see that one coming ;)
I suppose it's a classic case against deconstructionism, LOL !
