    My Interpretation:I feel like this song is about growing up sheltered and being slapped in the face by reality when you're older.

    You realize that society is so corrupt, and that all the people who are supposed to be telling you the truth are lying.

    When you were a kid, everything was sweet and simple, just you and your playmates doing whatever- there was no bad in the world. Then when you look back it feels like a dream, the simplicity is almost surreal, because now all the shit in the world is chasing off your happiness.

    People leave, people change-- you realize that what you thought was true is a total fabrication... and then it hits you that we live in a lost society, and you just have to suck it up and go with it, but you just can't. It used to be easy, you prefer the dream that is childhood, and wish for an endless night-- you and everyone else who remembers the good days.

    My Interpretation:This is just one observation I've made that I notice every time I listen to this song and I don't think a lot of other people notice.

    In the part where he talks about Capricorn, people say it's because the girl is a Capricorn and she's the one doing the unraveling. But I kind of thought that since it's a constellation/zone (Tropic of Capricorn), and it talks about unraveling which makes me think of circular motions, it could really mean the passage of time. Whether it's the movement of the constellation in the skies or the rotation of the Tropic of Capricorn, it's talking about time moving forward. Since the planet is round and rotates, it fits with the "unraveling" thing. A ball of yarn travelling rotates on an axis much like the earth travelling through space.

    From all this, my conclusion was that these two people loved each other but over time, at least one of them slowly started to fall out of love, ended the relationship, and took back their feelings or promises they made to love, "unraveled words".

    General Comment:I just want to throw my 2 cents in about the chorus

    "sugarcane in the easy morning, weather vane's my one and lonely"

    I picture an old couple, or maybe just an old man, alone, sipping coffee (with sugar from sugarcane in it) and reading a newspaper about the weather. Maybe he just wishes for easier days like drinking coffee and reading about the weather. Or maybe his mornings are too simple, and that he wishes that the weather wasn't his only source of company in the morning. People are getting really creative on this part but I feel it to be a little more straightforward than most other parts

    Song Meaning:From what I've heard, this song means it's better to be dreaming than to be awake, that's why the song says "Hey moon, please forget to fall down. Hey moon, don't you go down." And also "If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed, then we should feed our jewelry to the sea. For diamonds do appear to be just like broken glass to me." They don't want the night to end. They hope for all the world's greed to just be unreal, like a dream, not actually existing as if you woke up to reality.

    If our lives really mean nothing, great! But why are we all so damn greedy then? Lets throw away everything but the necessities and not worry so much about appearances.

    The girl is a Capricorn, which may or may not hold some certain signifigance to Urie. It may simply be a way to refer to the girl without name. He says that the girl is fragile but playful, and her lips are capable of saying things about the past that really damage him and upset him. By saying that the words are like moths upon old scarves, he means that the words are eating away slowly and leaving holes in his heart. The entire stanza means that though the girl was fragile and not meaning to hurt something playfully said about the past began to eat away at him like moths on scarves.

    Basically, the world sucks, but I moved east for this girl. Is she worth it? Hell if I know. Just try to forget the bad things, and make it feel like home.

    The girl is in him. He may be yelling or crying her name, but even though he fled back home to the west, she still gets to him. But she is drawn to the men who will never "yawn". This may mean they will never grow tired of her or bore her, and it implies that she grew tire of him or he of her before he left for the west again.

    My Opinion:"Drawn to the ones who never yawn" is probably a Jack Kerouac reference.
